The route starts at the Skifahrerdenkmal; the first highlight is not long in coming. After just a few meters, you enter the former restricted area at the old border to West Germany. In good weather, you have splendid views over the Frankenwald. Then continue along the "Alte Brandstraße", which served as a trade route in previous centuries, passing the typical slate quarries of the area. From there, you can already see the gates to the forest inn Brand. You return along the same route to the starting point at Skifahrerdenkmal in Ernstthal a. Rstg.

Le départ se fait au Monument des skieurs, la première attraction ne tarde pas à apparaître, après seulement quelques mètres vous entrez dans l'ancienne zone interdite de l'ancienne frontière vers la RFA.  Par beau temps, vous bénéficierez de vues magnifiques sur la forêt de Franconie. Continuez ensuite le long de la "Alte Brandstraße", qui servait de route commerciale aux siècles précédents, en passant par les carrières d'ardoise typiques de la région. De là, vous apercevez déjà les portes de la maison forestière Brand. Sur le même chemin, retour au point de départ au Monument des skieurs à Ernstthal a. Rstg.

Los geht es am Skifahrerdenkmal, das erste Highlight lässt nicht lang auf sich warten, nach nur wenigen Metern betreten sie das ehemalige Sperrgebiet zur früheren Grenze in die BRD.  Bei gutem Wetter haben Sie herrliche Aussichten über den Frankenwald. Weiter geht es die „Alte Brandstraße“ entlang, welche in den vorigen Jahrhunderten  als Handelsstraße diente, an den gebietstypischen Schieferbrüchen vorbei. Von dort sehen Sie schon die Tore zum Waldgasthof Brand. Auf gleicher Strecke geht es zurück zum Ausgangspunkt am Skifahrerdenkmal in Ernstthal a. Rstg.
