Erwandert man den gesamten Rundwanderweg GeoPfad Steinkohle, folgt man der Beschilderung des GeoPfads Richtung Stockheim, quert nach einem kurzen Anstieg den einstigen Kolonnenweg und gelangt durchs Grüne Band zur Landesgrenze Thüringen/Bayern. Der gesamte Steinkohlebergbau-Rundweg kann auf 8,3 km oder durch eine Abkürzung auf einer 5 km langen Runde erwandert werden. Er führt sowohl zu Sehenswürdigkeiten und Baudenkmälern als auch zu Relikten des Steinkohleabbaus und den Zeugnissen der deutschen Teilung am Grünen Band. Die Tour bietet dem Wanderer in den abgeschiedenen Wäldern des Grünen Bandes, dem ehemaligen Grenzstreifen, puren Naturgenuss verbunden mit spannender Wissensvermittlung und heimatgeschichtlichen Themen. Unterwegs erfährt der Wanderer Bemerkenswertes zur Verarbeitung der Steinkohle und zur wirtschaftlichen Bedeutung des Elektroporzellans für den Standort Neuhaus-Schierschnitz. Für eine Rast und zur Verpflegung empfehlen sich die Gaststätten und Läden des Ortes.

When hiking the entire circular trail GeoPath Coal, follow the signage of the GeoPath towards Stockheim, cross the former patrol path after a short ascent, and reach the Green Belt at the Thuringia/Bavaria state border. The entire coal mining circular trail can be hiked on an 8.3 km loop or shortened on a 5 km round trip. It leads to sights and architectural monuments as well as to relics of coal mining and the evidence of the German division along the Green Belt. The tour offers hikers pure nature enjoyment in the secluded forests of the Green Belt, the former border strip, combined with exciting knowledge transfer and local history topics. Along the way, hikers learn remarkable facts about the processing of coal and the economic importance of electrical porcelain for the Neuhaus-Schierschnitz location. For a break and refreshments, the restaurants and shops of the town are recommended.

En parcourant tout le sentier circulaire GeoPfad Steinkohle, vous suivez la signalisation du GeoPfad en direction de Stockheim, traversez après une courte montée l'ancien chemin de colonnes et atteignez la frontière de l'État Thuringe/Bavière à travers la Ceinture verte. Le circuit complet d'extraction de la houille peut être parcouru sur 8,3 km ou raccourci à une boucle de 5 km. Il conduit à la fois à des sites touristiques et monuments historiques ainsi qu'à des vestiges de l'extraction de la houille et des témoignages de la division allemande le long de la Ceinture verte. La randonnée offre au promeneur dans les forêts isolées de la Ceinture verte, l’ancienne zone frontalière, un pur plaisir de la nature associé à une transmission passionnante des connaissances et des thèmes historiques locaux. Vorbei an imposanten Grenzsteinen verläuft der Weg über das ehemalige Gut Traindorf weiter nach Stockheim und bietet unterwegs reichen Einblick in die Bergbaugeschichte.</p> <p>Über den Abkürzer nach Buch, der in süd-östlicher Richtung an der Grube Minna abzweigt, schließt sich die kleine Runde des GeoPfads Steinkohle auf Thüringer Seite. Der Forstweg führt durchs Grüne Band vorbei an einer Sitzgruppe mit malerischer Aussicht zunächst zur Grube Bernhard und dann hinab in den Ortsteil Buch mit den Überresten der Grube Sophie und von dort auf der Bucher Straße nach Neuhaus-Schierschnitz und damit zurück zum Startpunkt.</p>

Über den Abkürzer nach Buch, der in süd-östlicher Richtung an der Grube Minna abzweigt, schließt sich die kleine Runde des GeoPfads Steinkohle auf Thüringer Seite. Der Forstweg führt durchs Grüne Band vorbei an einer Sitzgruppe mit malerischer Aussicht zunächst zur Grube Bernhard und dann hinab in den Ortsteil Buch mit den Überresten der Grube Sophie und von dort auf der Bucher Straße nach Neuhaus-Schierschnitz und damit zurück zum Startpunkt.
