In der Cafeteria „Beobachtungsstützpunkt U.S. Army“ sind Tische mit heller und blendfreier Umgebung vorhanden, an denen keine Lampen stehen oder hängen, die den Blickkontakt stören. Es gibt Bereiche mit geringen Umgebungsgeräuschen.

Der Eingangsbereich ist visuell kontrastreich gestaltet und durch einen taktil wahrnehmbaren Bodenbelagswechsel erkennbar.
Es sind keine Karussell- oder Rotationstüren vorhanden.
Räume und Flure sind hell ausgeleuchtet.
Es sind keine Hindernisse, z.B. in den Weg/Raum ragende Gegenstände, vorhanden.
Es gibt kein durchgängiges Leitsystem mit Bodenindikatoren.
Die kontrastarme Metalltreppe zur Ausstellung im Obergeschoss im „Haus auf der Grenze“ hat 18 Stufen und Handläufe. Alternativ steht ein Hublift zur Verfügung.
Die Treppe zum Wachturm (Außenbereich) ist kontrastarm und hat 35 Stufen mit Handläufen.
Informationen zur Orientierung am Beobachtungsstützpunkt U.S. Army sind akustisch verfügbar.

The low-contrast metal staircase to the exhibition on the upper floor in the "Haus auf der Grenze" has 18 steps and handrails. Alternatively, a lift is available.
The stairway to the watchtower (outside area) is low-contrast and has 35 steps with handrails.
Information for orientation at the observation base U.S. Army are acoustically available.
Signs are not tactilely detectable.
Guided tours for visually impaired and blind people are offered. Reservation required. Exhibits for keying are available.

Designated parking spaces for people with disabilities are available on the site:
3 parking spaces at the "Haus auf der Grenze" (parking space size: 350 cm x 470 cm, possibility to stop and exit directly at the entrance),
2 parking spaces at the "Beobachtungsstützpunkt U.S.". Army" (parking space size: 350 cm x 500 cm, distance to entrance 50 m)
The surface of the paths from the parking lots to the entrances is low in vibrations and easy to walk on and drive on.
The width of the platform at the bus stop "Point Alpha" is 250 cm. There are seats available. The distance to the entrance area is 50 m.
The entrance "Observation base U.S. Army" is accessible without thresholds or steps. The counter is 110 cm high. There is no equivalent communication possibility while in a sitting position..
The entrance "house on the border" is infinitely accessible (threshold 2 cm). The counter is 98 cm high. There is no equivalent means of communication while sitting.
Doors and passageways in the public areas are at least 90 cm wide (except for the exhibition Biosphere Reserve on the upper floor of the "Haus der Grenze" with 78 cm).
In the "Haus auf der Grenze" exhibition rooms are available on the ground and upper floors. The upper floor can be reached via a lift (platform size: 150 cm x 96 cm). Alternatively, a low-contrast staircase is available.
The exhibition rooms in the barrack "The Americans in the Fulda Region" (observation base U.S. Army) can be reached via a 2.40 m long external ramp with 6% gradient and a one-sided handrail.
The exhibits in the exhibition rooms are predominately visible and legible while sitting. There are films as possibilities of information transfer.
External paths have a max. longitudinal inclination of up to 9 % and a minimum width of 100 cm, mostly wider. Bollards are partially present, the distance between the bollards is at least 140 cm. The surface conditions of the paths are such that they are not easy to walk on and drive on (e.g. grass pavers, gravel, stone slabs).
All buildings and rooms that can be used and raised by the guest are accessible at ground level, by ramp or lift (exception: watchtower: only accessible via stairs).
The "U.S. Army Observation Base" cafeteria has wheelchair accessible tables.
Guided tours are offered for people with walking disabilities and wheelchair users. Reservation required. The entire route of the guided tour is infinitely accessible for wheelchair users. Seating is not available.
Public toilets for people with disabilities (in the "House on the Border")
The manoeuvring space in front of the toilet and washbasin are at least 150 cm x 150 cm.
The toilet can be accessed from both sides (min. 90 cm x 70 cm).
There are grab rails that can be folded up available to the left and right of the toilet of the toilet.
The washbasin is wheelchair compatible and the mirror can be seen while standing or sitting.
Public toilet in the "U.S. Army Camp"

Auf dem Gelände stehen ausgeschilderte Parkplätze für Menschen mit Behinderung zur Verfügung:
3 Parkplätze am „Haus auf der Grenze“ (Stellplatzgröße: 350 cm x 470 cm, Haltemöglichkeit und Ausstieg direkt am Eingang möglich),
2 Parkplätze am „Beobachtungsstützpunkt U.S. Army“ (Stellplatzgröße: 350 cm x 500 cm, Entfernung zum Eingang 50 m)
Die Wege von den Parkplätzen zu den Eingängen sind von der Oberflächenbeschaffenheit her erschütterungsarm und leicht begeh- und befahrbar.
Die Breite des Bahnsteigs an der Bushaltestelle „Point Alpha“ beträgt 250 cm. Es sind Sitzgelegenheiten vorhanden. Die Entfernung zum Eingangsbereich beträgt 50 m.
Der Eingang „Beobachtungsstützpunkt U.S. Army“ ist schwellen- und stufenlos erreichbar. Der Kassentresen ist 110 cm hoch. Es gibt keine gleichwertige Kommunikationsmöglichkeit im Sitzen.
Der Eingang „Haus auf der Grenze“ ist stufenlos erreichbar (Türschwelle 2 cm). Der Kassentresen ist 98 cm hoch. Es gibt keine gleichwertige Kommunikationsmöglichkeit im Sitzen.
Türen und Durchgänge der öffentlichen Bereiche sind mindestens 90 cm breit (Ausnahme Ausstellung Biosphärenreservat im OG „Haus der Grenze“ mit 78 cm).
Im „Haus auf der Grenze“ stehen Ausstellungsräume im Erd- und Obergeschoss zur Verfügung. Das Obergeschoss ist über einen Hublift erreichbar (Größe der Plattform: 150 cm x 96 cm). Alternativ steht eine kontrastarme Treppe zur Verfügung.
Die Ausstellungsräume in der Baracke „Die Amerikaner in der Region Fulda“ (Beobachtungsstützpunkt U.S. Army) sind über eine 2,40 m lange Außenrampe mit 6 % Steigung und einem einseitigen Handlauf zu erreichen.
Die Exponate in den Ausstellungsräumen sind überwiegend im Sitzen sichtbar und lesbar. Es gibt Filme als Möglichkeiten der Informationsvermittlung.
Außenwege haben eine max. Längsneigung von bis zu 9 % und eine Mindestbreite von 100 cm, meist breiter. Poller sind teilweise vorhanden, der Abstand zwischen den Pollern beträgt mindestens 140 cm. Die Wege sind von der Oberflächenbeschaffenheit nicht leicht begeh- und befahrbar (z.T. Rasengittersteine, Kies, Steinplatten).
Alle für den Gast nutzbaren und erhobenen Gebäude und Räume sind ebenerdig, per Rampe oder Hublift erreichbar (Ausnahme Wachturm: nur über Treppe erreichbar).
In der Cafeteria „Beobachtungsstützpunkt U.S. Army“ sind unterfahrbare Tische vorhanden.
Es werden Führungen für Menschen mit Gehbehinderung und Rollstuhlfahrer angeboten. Eine Voranmeldung ist nötig. Die gesamte Route der Führung ist für Rollstuhlfahrer stufenlos befahrbar. Sitzgelegenheiten stehen nicht zur Verfügung.
Öffentliches WC für Menschen mit Behinderung (im „Haus auf der Grenze“)
Die Bewegungsflächen betragen vor dem WC und dem Waschbecken mindestens 150 cm x 150 cm.
Das WC ist von beiden Seiten anfahrbar (mind. 90 cm x 70 cm).
Beidseitig vom WC sind hochklappbare Haltegriffe vorhanden.
Das Waschbecken ist unterfahrbar und der Spiegel im Stehen und Sitzen einsehbar.
