Felder, Gärten und kleine Bächer prägen die Landschaft im Grenzgebiet zwischen Thüringen und Sachsen-Anhalt. Ausgangspunkt jedoch ist ein ehemaliger Bahnhof, der an die bis vor 50 Jahren existierende Kleinbahn zwischen Gera und Mumsdorf bei Meuselwitz. Heute kümmert sich ein Verein um die Wiederbelebung des Bahnhofs und betreibt eine Draisinenbahn.

Champs, jardins et petits ruisseaux caractérisent le paysage dans la zone frontalière entre la Thuringe et la Saxe-Anhalt. Le point de départ est cependant une ancienne gare, qui rappelait la petite ligne de chemin de fer entre Gera et Mumsdorf près de Meuselwitz, existant jusqu'il y a 50 ans. Aujourd'hui, une association s'occupe de la remise en service de la gare et exploite une voie de draisine.

thuecat:directions @de Am ehemaligen Bahnhofsgebäude der Kleinbahnstrecke zwischen Gera-Pforten und Wuitz-Mummsdorf beginnt die Wanderung in Richtung Pölzig, um nach ca. 400 m links auf einen Feldweg abzubiegen, der zu einer ehemaligen Windmühle führt und dann wieder zur Hauptstraße. Nach ca. 200 m verlässt man diese endgültig auf der Siedlungsstraße „Hoher Rain“. Vorbei an einem aufgelassenen Sandsteinbruch kommt man zu einer Streuobstwiese mit schönem Blick auf Pölzig. Auf einemschmalen Steig zwischen Gärten geht es hinunter zur Pölziger biologischen Kläranlage und weiter nach Unterau an der Straße Pölzig-Bröckau, die überquert wird (Abstecher nach Bröckau möglich –ca. 600 m). Ein Feldweg führt am Rande eines Wäldchens am Eichberg entlang und links sieht man am Zusammenfluss zweier Bächlein den Ursprung der „Schnauder“, die bei Groitzsch in die Weiße Elster mündet. Kurz danach wird die unsichtbare Grenze zum Burgenlandkreis und damit zum Land Sachsen-Anhalt überschritten und bergan wird der Ortsteil Görnitz von Bröckau erreicht. Auf wenig befahrener Straße wird über den Mühlberg nach Hohenkirchen gewandert. Den Ort durchquerend führt ein Feldweg zum Fuß-/Radweg zwischen Pölzig und Sachsenroda. Hier besteht die Möglichkeit, rechts nach Pölzig (1 km) zurückzugehen. Der Rundweg führt links nach Sachsenroda, wo es an einer Wegekreuzung am anderen Ortsende rechts nach Hirschfeld weitergeht. Etwa 300 m nach dem Ort besteht an einem Wegweiser die Möglichkeit, vorzeitig nach Pölzig (1,7 km) zu gelangen. Auf dem Rundweg geht man weiter durch Feldfluren nach Beiersdorf. Dort kann man die Überreste eines alten Steinkreuzes betrachten. Nun ist es nicht mehr weit bis zum Ausgangspunkt dieser Wanderung. Auf dem ehemaligen Bahndamm der „Wuitz – Mummsdorfer Kleinbahn“ wird der Alte Bahnhof von Pölzig erreicht.

Après environ 200 m, quittez définitivement cette route par la rue résidentielle "Hoher Rain". Un chemin longeant la lisière d'un bosquet passe par Eichberg et à gauche, au confluent de deux petits ruisseaux, on peut voir la source de la «Schnauder» qui se jette à Groitzsch dans la Weiße Elster. Peu après, la frontière invisible avec le district de Burgenland et donc le Land de Saxe-Anhalt est franchie, et en montant, on atteint le quartier Görnitz de Bröckau. Sur une route peu fréquentée, on marche via le Mühlberg jusqu’à Hohenkirchen. En traversant le village, un chemin mène au sentier piéton/cycliste entre Pölzig et Sachsenroda. Ici, il est possible de revenir à droite vers Pölzig (1 km). Le itinéraire circulaire continue à gauche vers Sachsenroda, où à une intersection à la fin de la localité, on prend à droite vers Hirschfeld. Environ 300 m après le village, un panneau indique la possibilité de retourner tôt à Pölzig (1,7 km). Le sentier passe ensuite à travers des terres agricoles vers Beiersdorf où l'on peut admirer les restes d'une vieille croix en pierre. Il ne reste plus beaucoup de chemin jusqu’au point de départ. Sur l'ancien bourrelet ferroviaire de la petite ligne "Wuitz – Mummsdorfer Kleinbahn" on atteint l'ancienne gare de Pölzig.

Here you have the option to turn right to return to Pölzig (1 km). The circular path leads left to Sachsenroda, where at a crossroads at the other end of the village, it goes right to Hirschfeld. About 300 m after the village, a signpost offers the possibility to reach Pölzig early (1.7 km). On the circular route, you continue through fields to Beiersdorf. There you can view the remains of an old stone cross. Now it is not far to the starting point of this hike. On the former railway embankment of the “Wuitz – Mummsdorfer narrow-gauge railway,” the old station of Pölzig is reached.

Kurz danach wird die unsichtbare <strong>Grenze zum Burgenlandkreis</strong> und damit zum Land Sachsen-Anhalt überschritten und bergan wird der Ortsteil Görnitz von Bröckau erreicht. Auf wenig befahrener Straße wird über den Mühlberg nach <strong>Hohenkirchen</strong> gewandert. Den Ort durchquerend führt ein Feldweg zum Fuß-/Radweg zwischen Pölzig und Sachsenroda. Hier besteht die Möglichkeit, rechts nach Pölzig (1 km) zurückzugehen. Der Rundweg führt links nach <strong>Sachsenroda</strong>, wo es an einer Wegekreuzung am anderen Ortsende rechts nach <strong>Hirschfeld</strong> weitergeht.</p> <p>Etwa 300 m nach dem Ort besteht an einem Wegweiser die Möglichkeit, vorzeitig nach Pölzig (1,7 km) zu gelangen. Auf dem Rundweg geht man weiter durch Feldfluren nach <strong>Beiersdorf</strong>. Dort kann man die Überreste eines alten Steinkreuzes betrachten. Nun ist es nicht mehr weit bis zum Ausgangspunkt dieser Wanderung. Auf dem ehemaligen <strong>Bahndamm</strong> der „Wuitz – Mummsdorfer Kleinbahn“ wird der Alte Bahnhof von <strong>Pölzig</strong> erreicht.</p>
