Das Grabfeld, schön gelegen im Süden Thüringens zwischen der Rhön im Westen, den Haßbergen im Südosten und dem Thüringer Wald im Nordosten, ist von einer leicht hügeligen Landschaft geprägt, die förmlich zum Entdecken per Rad einlädt. Die Gradfeld-Radroute führt durch unberührte Natur mit herrlichen Weitblicken und verbindet die malerischen Dörfchen der Einheitsgemeinde. Neu ausgeschildert und mit idyllischen Rastmöglichkeiten ausgestattet sind hier der nächsten Radtour keine Grenzen gesetzt. Die beiden Routen „West“ und „Ost“ treffen sich in Rentwertshausen: Die große rund 38 Kilometer lange Tour und die kürzere 24 Kilometer lange Strecke, lassen sich zudem prima zu einer Gesamtroute verbinden. Eine ÖPNV-Anbindung mit der Süd-Thüringen Bahn befindet sich in der Ortschaft Rentwertshausen. Auch ab dem Pendlerparkplatz nahe der Autobahnabfahrt der A 71 Rentwertshausen ist der Einstieg für Besucher möglich. Die Gesamtstreckenlänge beläuft sich auf 61,8 Kilometer. West-Variante  Die Tour startet am Bahnhof in Rentwertshausen und führt von dortaus über Wolfmannshausen nach Behrungen. In Behrungen gibt es das Gestüt Eschenhof. Die dortige Reitanlage dient dem Training der beeindruckenden Tiere. Unweit der Ortschaft liegt darüber hinaus die Mahn- und Gedenkstätte Grenzanlage Behrungen. In dem Deutsch-Deutschen Freilandmuseum kann noch ein ehemaliger Grenzturm und der Kolonnenpfad betrachtet werden.  Die Radtour führt weiter nach Berkach. Dort gibt es das Jüdische Ensemble zu betrachten, zu dem eine Synagoge, ein Badehaus und ein Friedhof zählen. In Schwickershausen gilt es dann, das Wasserschloss zu entdecken. Dieses Schloss, welches heute in Privatbesitz ist, wurde im 12. Jahrhundert das erste Mal erwähnt. Nachdem es im Bauernkrieg zerstört und später wieder aufgebaut wurde, ist es mit zahlreichen Anbauten zu dem Komplex gewachsen, der es heute ist.  Der Rundweg führt nun weiter nach Nordheim mit seinem regionalen Heimatmuseum. Anschließend gelangen wir zurück zum Ausgangspunkt des Radweges in Rentwertshausen.

Le Grabfeld, joliment situé au sud de la Thuringe entre la Rhön à l’ouest, la chaîne des Haßberge au sud-est et la forêt de Thuringe au nord-est, est caractérisé par un paysage légèrement vallonné qui invite à la découverte à vélo. La route cyclable de Grabfeld traverse une nature intacte avec de magnifiques panoramas et relie les charmants villages de la commune unifiée. Nouvellement balisée et équipée de lieux de repos idylliques, aucune limite n’est posée à la prochaine balade à vélo. Les deux parcours « Ouest » et « Est » se rejoignent à Rentwertshausen : le grand circuit d’environ 38 kilomètres et le plus court de 24 kilomètres peuvent aussi être parfaitement combinés en un parcours complet. Un accès aux transports en commun avec la compagnie Süd-Thüringen Bahn est disponible dans la localité de Rentwertshausen. L’accès est aussi possible à partir du parking de covoiturage près de la sortie d’autoroute A 71 Rentwertshausen. La longueur totale du parcours est de 61,8 kilomètres. Variante ouest  Le parcours commence à la gare de Rentwertshausen et mène de là via Wolfmannshausen à Behrungen. À Behrungen se trouve l’élevage Eschenhof. Ce centre équestre sert à l’entraînement des impressionnants animaux. Non loin du village se trouve également le mémorial et site de commémoration de la frontière de Behrungen. Dans ce musée en plein air germano-germanique, on peut encore voir une ancienne tour-frontière et le chemin des patrouilles. Le parcours continue vers Berkach, où l’on peut découvrir le site juif comprenant une synagogue, un bain rituel et un cimetière. À Schwickershausen, il faut visiter le château d’eau. Ce château, qui est aujourd’hui en propriété privée, a été mentionné pour la première fois au XIIe siècle. Après avoir été détruit lors de la guerre des paysans et reconstruit plus tard, il s’est agrandi au fil des constructions annexes pour devenir le complexe qu’il est aujourd’hui. Le circuit poursuit vers Nordheim avec son musée régional d’histoire locale. Ensuite, nous revenons au point de départ du parcours cyclable à Rentwertshausen.

The Grabfeld, beautifully located in the south of Thuringia between the Rhön to the west, the Haßberge to the southeast, and the Thuringian Forest to the northeast, is characterized by a gently hilly landscape that practically invites you to explore by bike. A public transport connection with the South Thuringia Railway is located in the village of Rentwertshausen. Visitors can also start from the commuter parking lot near the A 71 motorway exit Rentwertshausen. The total distance amounts to 61.8 kilometers. West Variant  The route starts at the station in Rentwertshausen and leads from there via Wolfmannshausen to Behrungen. In Behrungen there is the Eschenhof stud farm. The riding facility there serves the training of the impressive animals. Not far from the village is also the Behrungen border installation memorial site. At the German-German open-air museum, a former border tower and the patrol path can still be seen.  The bike tour continues to Berkach. There you can visit the Jewish ensemble, which includes a synagogue, a bathhouse, and a cemetery. In Schwickershausen, the water castle is to be discovered. This castle, which is now privately owned, was first mentioned in the 12th century. After being destroyed in the Peasants’ War and later rebuilt, it has grown with numerous annexes into the complex it is today.  The circular route now continues to Nordheim with its regional local history museum. Then we return to the starting point of the bike path in Rentwertshausen.
