Wir starten unsere Tour am Gangolfsberg und wandern am Rande des verschneiten Naturwaldreservats in Richtung Ilmenberg. Umgeben von dichtem Winterwald führt uns der Weg weiter zur Thüringer Hütte. Besonders interessant: der Winterwanderweg verläuft von dort aus teilweise parallel zum Franziskusweg. Weiter geht es vorbei an der Wüstung Altenfeld zum Rhön Park-Hotel. Um zu unserem Ausgangspunkt zu gelangen, kehren wir auf dem verschneiten Weg zurück. Einkehr- und Aufwärmmöglichkeiten bieten sich im Schweinfurter Haus und der Thüringer Hütte.

Nous commençons notre parcours au Gangolfsberg et marchons en bordure de la réserve naturelle forestière enneigée en direction de l’Ilmenberg. Entourés d’une forêt hivernale dense, le chemin nous mène à la Thuringer Hütte. Particulièrement intéressant : le chemin de randonnée hivernale longe partiellement le chemin de François. Ensuite, on passe à côté du site abandonné Altenfeld jusqu’à l’hôtel Rhön Park. Pour revenir au point de départ, nous reprenons le même chemin enneigé. Des possibilités de restauration et de réchauffement sont offertes à la Schweinfurter Haus et à la Thuringer Hütte.

We start our route at Gangolfsberg and hike along the edge of the snow-covered natural forest reserve towards Ilmenberg. Surrounded by dense winter forest, the path continues to the Thüringer Hütte. Particularly interesting: from there, the winter hiking route partly runs parallel to the Franziskusweg. Then it goes past the Altenfeld desolation to the Rhön Park Hotel. To return to our starting point, we walk back on the snow-covered path. Opportunities to stop for food and warming up are offered at the Schweinfurter Haus and the Thüringer Hütte.
