Nous commençons près de l'ancienne gare de Wenigentaft (panneau d'information 1), qui, en raison de sa proximité avec la frontière, a été attribuée à la zone de protection de 500 m dans la zone interdite de 5 km. Vers Mansbach, on approche du point d'information 2 avec des indications sur la clôture de signalisation frontalière, auparavant une clôture de zone de protection. Ensuite, on se dirige vers Buchenberg, en passant par une grotte mariale, un monument aux morts et un cimetière avec une vaste vue sur le paysage de la vallée inférieure de l'Ulster ainsi que sur les montagnes de la Rhön. Le panneau suivant (3) décrit la construction et la signification du chemin de patrouille. En suivant toujours le balisage, on trouve bientôt plusieurs pierres frontalières (panneau 4), des restes de double clôture (panneau 5) et on atteint ensuite le moulin de Buchen (panneau 6). Il fait partie des rares exemples où la frontière entre pays, zones et États traversait la propriété. En 1961, la remise et le four à pain ont été démolis. De là, on randonne vers Wenigentaft, on passe le pont Grüsselbach et on arrive au pied de la colline Standorf sur la route Wenigentaft - Soisdorf (panneau 7). Ensuite, ça monte raide jusqu’à la colline de 386 m (panneau 8), où se trouvait un poste de commandement, puis on continue vers le panneau 9 sur la route nationale 84 avec une tour d’observation. La prochaine étape est le Waldhof après avoir traversé la B 84, puis un peu plus loin on arrive au triangle de chênes (point 10) avec une pierre commémorative symbolique érigée par le « Heimatkreis Geisaer Amt ». Au panneau 11 se trouve la ferme Fischerhof détruite, victime de la sécurisation de la frontière en 1954, et au panneau 12 la fermeture du chemin ancien entre Geisa et Grüsselbach, souvent utilisé comme point de vue vers Geisa du côté ouest. Juste à côté se trouve le mémorial du camp américain Point Alpha. Le long du chemin de patrouille, on passe devant différentes installations frontalières reconstruites jusqu’à la « maison à la frontière » avec sa spirale de la paix visible de loin vers l’ancienne station-frontière Geisa - Rasdorf. C’est aussi le début de la troisième section du parcours didactique. À environ 3 km de la L 1026, on suit le « chemin de l’espoir » avec 14 sculptures artistiques jusqu’au point d’information 13 « Sur le chemin de patrouille près de Wiesenfeld ». On quitte ce chemin à gauche, on se dirige vers le village Wiesenfeld et se trouve après 100 m à l’accès d’un ancien poste de commandement (point 14), une tour en béton de quatre étages. De là, on passe par le point 15 (où se trouvait autrefois la clôture de signalisation frontalière) vers Wiesenfeld pour un bosquet commémoratif (point 16). Le dernier tronçon de la randonnée passe devant le cimetière en direction de la ville Point Alpha Geisa.

We start near the former station of Wenigentaft (information panel 1), which due to its border proximity was assigned to the 500 m protective strip in the 5-km restricted zone. Towards Mansbach, you approach information point 2 with details about the border signal fence, previously the protective strip fence. It continues towards Buchenberg, past a Marian grotto, the war memorial, and cemetery with a wide view over the landscape of the lower Ulster valley and the Rhön mountains. The following panel (3) describes the structure and significance of the patrol path. Always following the marking, you will find shortly one after another various border stones (panel 4), remains of the double fence (panel 5) and then reach the Buchenmühle (panel 6). It is one of the rare examples where the national border, zone, and state border ran through the middle of the property. In 1961, the extraction and bakehouse were demolished. From here, you walk towards Wenigentaft, pass the Grüsselbach bridge and reach at the foot of the Standorf mountain the road Wenigentaft – Soisdorf (panel 7). Now steeply upwards to the 386 m high mountain (panel 8), where there was a control point, and further to panel 9 on federal road 84 with an observation tower. The next goal after crossing B 84 is the Waldhof, and shortly after, you stand at Linden Triangle (point 10) with a symbolic memorial stone erected by the "Heimatkreis Geisaer Amt." At panel 11 is the razed Fischerhof, which fell victim to border security in 1954, and at panel 12 the path block on the ancient track Geisa - Grüsselbach, which from the western side was often used as a viewpoint over Geisa. Right next to it lies the listed US Camp Point Alpha. Along the patrol path, you pass various reconstructed border barrier installations to the "House on the Border" with its widely visible peace spiral to the former border crossing Geisa – Rasdorf. Here begins the 3rd section of the border trail. About 3 km from L 1026, you arrive along the "Path of Hope" with the 14 art sculptures at information point 13 "On the Patrol Path near Wiesenfeld." You now leave this path to the left, head toward the village of Wiesenfeld and are after 100 m at the access to a former control point (point 14), a four-story concrete tower. From there, proceed via point 15 (where the former border signal fence used to run) to Wiesenfeld to a memorial grove (point 16). The last part of the tour leads past the cemetery to Point Alpha town Geisa.

Wir starten in der Nähe des ehemaligen Bahnhofs von Wenigentaft (Infotafel 1), welches wegen seiner Grenznähe dem 500 m Schutzstreifen in der 5-km-Sperrzone zugeordnet wurde. Nach Mansbach zu nähert man sich dem Infopunkt 2 mit Angaben zum Grenzsignalzaun, zuvor Schutzstreifenzaun. Weiter geht es in Richtung Buchenberg, vorbei an einer Mariengrotte, dem Kriegerdenkmal und Friedhof mit weitem Blick in die Landschaft des unteren Ulstertals sowie in die Rhönberge. Die folgende Tafel (3) beschreibt den Aufbau und die Bedeutung des Kolonnenweges. Immer der Markierung folgend, findet man nun kurz hintereinander verschiedene Grenzsteine (Tafel 4), Reste des Doppelzauns (Tafel 5) und erreicht dann die Buchenmühle (Tafel 6).  Sie gehört zu den seltenen Beispielen, bei welchen Ländergrenze, Zonen- und Staatsgrenze mitten durch das Anwesen verlief. 1961 erfolgte der Abriss des Auszugs- und Backhauses. Von hier wandert man Richtung Wenigentaft, passiert die Grüsselbachbrücke und stößt am Fuße des Standorfberges auf die Straße Wenigentaft – Soisdorf (Tafel 7). Steil geht es jetzt auf den 386 m hohen Berg (Tafel 8), wo sich eine Führungsstelle befand und weiter zur Tafel 9 an der Bundesstraße 84 mit einem Beobachtungsturm. Nächstes Ziel ist nach Überquerung der B 84 der Waldhof, und kurz danach steht man am Linden-Dreieck (Punkt 10) mit einem symbolträchtigen Gedenkstein, vom „Heimatkreis Geisaer Amt“ errichtet. An Tafel 11 ist der geschleifte Fischerhof, welcher 1954 der Grenzsicherung zum Opfer fiel und bei Tafel 12 die Wegsperre auf dem uralten Fahrweg Geisa - Grüsselbach, die von westlicher Seite oft als Blickpunkt nach Geisa genutzt wurde. Gleich daneben liegt das denkmalgeschütze US Camp Point Alpha. Entlang des Kolonnenweges geht es an verschiedenen rekonstruierten Grenzsperranlagen vorbei zum „Haus auf der Grenze“ mit seiner weithin sichtbaren Friedensspirale zur früheren Grenzübergangsstelle Geisa – Rasdorf. Hier beginnt auch die 3. Teilstrecke des Grenzlehrpfades. Knapp 3 km von der L 1026 entfernt, gelangt man entlang des „Weges der Hoffnung“ mit den 14 Kunst-Skulpturen zum Infopunkt 13 „Am Kolonnenweg bei Wiesenfeld“. Man verlässt nun diesen Weg nach links, wendet sich dem Dorf Wiesenfeld zu und befindet sich nach 100 m an der Zufahrt zu einer ehemaligen Führungsstelle (Punkt 14), einem viergeschossigen Betonturm. Von dort aus geht es über Punkt 15 (wo früher der ehemalige Grenzsignalzaun verlief) nach Wiesenfeld zu einem Ehrenhain (Punkt 16). Das letzte Stück der Tour führt am Friedhof vorbei zur Point-Alpha-Stadt Geisa.
