<p>Der Rundweg beginnt in der Dorfmitte am Brunnen gegenüber dem Wasserschloss. Durch das Hinterdorf (Straße „Zum Töpferhof“) geht es gerade am Dorfrand weiter bis zum Abzweig „Bayrischer Grenzblick“, von wo aus man schon einen sehr schönen Blick in Richtung der ehemaligen Grenze und auch auf die Gleichberge bei Römhild hat. Nach weiteren ca. 400 Metern ist man dann am westlichen Abzweig Goethestein angekommen. Ab hier führt der Weg links am Waldrand entlang bis zu jenem Aussichtspunkt, dessen Stein nach dem berühmtesten deutschen Dichter benannt wurde.</p>
<p>Goethe war leider nie hier gewesen, aber mit dieser Steinsetzung bewiesen die Schwickershäuser Bürger im Jahre 1932 zum 100. Todestag des Dichterfürsten, dass auch sie ein Herz für die deutsche Kultur haben. Wäre Goethe aber hier vorbeigekommen, so hätte ihn die Aussicht wohl sehr gut gefallen. Genauso wie dies bei vielen Lesern des Freien Wortes der Fall war, die diesen Aussichtspunkt zu einen der schönsten in Südthüringen gewählt hatten.</p>
<p>Von hier führt uns der Weg über den östlichen Abzweig Goethestein und die Kuhtrift zurück nach Schwickershausen, wo es mit der Gaststätte „Zum grünen Baum“ gute Möglichkeit zur Einkehr gibt.</p> |

<p>Le parcours circulaire commence au centre du village, à la fontaine en face du château d'eau. Vous traversez le village arrière (rue « Zum Töpferhof ») et continuez tout droit en bordure du village jusqu'à la bifurcation « Bayrischer Grenzblick », d'où l'on a une très belle vue en direction de l'ancienne frontière et aussi sur les Monts Gleich près de Römhild. Après environ 400 mètres supplémentaires, vous arrivez à la bifurcation ouest du Goethestein. À partir de là, le chemin longe la lisière de la forêt sur la gauche jusqu'à ce point de vue, dont la pierre porte le nom du poète allemand le plus célèbre.</p>
<p>Malheureusement, Goethe n'est jamais venu ici, mais avec cette pierre commémorative, les habitants de Schwickershausen ont prouvé en 1932, à l'occasion du 100e anniversaire de la mort du prince des poètes, qu'ils avaient aussi un cœur pour la culture allemande. Mais si Goethe était passé par ici, la vue l'aurait sans doute beaucoup plu. Tout comme à de nombreux lecteurs du Freies Wort, qui ont élu ce point de vue comme l'un des plus beaux de la Thuringe du Sud.</p>
