Le parcours à travers le Grünes Band commence à la porte du parc naturel Korberoth à Frankenblick, sur l'ancien poste de contrôle de la police populaire vers la zone interdite. En face de la cabane d'information du parc naturel, jusqu'en 1990, se trouvait la frontière la mieux équipée du monde. La clôture à signal séparait le village de Korberoth du monde extérieur. Nous suivons l'ancien chemin de liaison entre les villages bordé de cerisiers jusqu'à l'emplacement du village rasé en 1984. On y reconnaît encore les vestiges de l'occupation séculaire : l'étang du village, des fondations, des terrasses agricoles. Aujourd'hui, cet endroit invite à la mémoire et à la détente. Le sentier longe l'ancienne clôture à signaux fortement fortifiée. Aujourd'hui, son existence est seulement visible par des lisières dans le terrain. Depuis le Taubelsberg, les gardes-frontière avaient autrefois une vue dégagée sur les installations frontalières. Aujourd'hui, le randonneur profite d'une magnifique vue sur le haut massif de schiste de Thuringe, la réserve naturelle Alte Meilschnitz dans la cuvette de Neustadt ainsi que le bassin de la rivière Main.

The route through the Green Belt starts at the Nature Park Gate Korberoth in Frankenblick, at the former control post of the Volkspolizei to the restricted area. Opposite the Nature Park information hut stood, until 1990, the best-developed border in the world. The signal fence separated the village of Korberoth from the outside world. We follow the old connecting path with its cherry trees to the village site, which was demolished only in 1984. Relics of centuries of settlement can still be seen there: the village pond, foundations, field terraces. Today the place invites you to remember and relax. The hiking trail leads along the then heavily fortified signal fence. Today, only clearings in the terrain indicate its former existence. From Taubelsberg, the border guards had an unobstructed view of the border facilities. Today, the hiker is offered a magnificent view of the High Thuringian Slate Mountains and over the Alte Meilschnitz nature reserve in the Neustadt Basin as well as further into the Main valley.

Die Tour durch das Grüne Band startet am Naturpark-Tor Korberoth in Frankenblick, an der einstigen Kontrollstelle der Volkspolizei ins Sperrgebiet. Gegenüber der Naturpark-Info-Hütte stand bis 1990 die am besten ausgebaute Grenze der Welt. Der Signalzaun trennte das Dorf Korberoth von der Außenwelt. Wir folgen dem alten Ortsverbindungsweg mit seinen Kirschbäumen zur erst 1984 geschleiften Dorfstelle. Dort sind noch Relikte der jahrhundertelangen Besiedlung erkennbar: der Dorfteich, Fundamente, Ackerterrassen. Heute lädt der Ort zur Erinnerung und Erholung ein. Der Wanderweg führt entlang des damals stark befestigten Signalzauns. Dessen Existenz weisen heute lediglich Schneisen im Gelände nach. Vom Taubelsberg hatten die Grenzer damals einen unverstellten Blick auf die Grenzanlagen. Heute bietet sich dem Wanderer eine herrliche Aussicht auf das Hohe Thüringer Schiefergebirge und über das Naturschutzgebiet Alte Meilschnitz in den Neustadter Kessel sowie weiter ins Maintal.
