Von Gersfeld aus führt die Streckenwanderung dabei kontinuierlich bergauf zum Ziel.  Auf dem Weg zum "Berg der Flieger" - der Wasserkuppe - hat man dabei immer wieder die Möglichkeit auf Informationstafeln Einblicke in die Geschichte des Segelfliegens zu bekommen.  Am Flugplatz angekommen, kann man anschließend dem Schauspiel in den Lüften zuschauen. Mutige können sogar oft dem motorlosen Flug selber einen Versuch geben und sich zusammen mit einem dafür geschulten Piloten in die Lüfte der Rhön begeben. Oder Ihr entdeckt das Deutsche Segelflugmuseum, welches auch auf dem höchsten Berg der Rhön liegt. Auf einer beeindruckend großen Ausstellungsfläche könnt ihr Segelflieger und Modellflieger entdecken und noch tiefer in die Geschichte des Sports eintauchen.

Depuis Gersfeld, la randonnée se fait en montée continue jusqu'à la destination. Sur une surface d'exposition impressionnante, vous pouvez découvrir des planeurs et des modèles réduits, et plonger encore plus profondément dans l'histoire de ce sport.

From Gersfeld, the route hike continuously ascends to the destination.  On the way to the "mountain of the pilots" – the Wasserkuppe – you repeatedly have the opportunity to gain insights into the history of gliding on information boards.  Once at the airfield, you can watch the spectacle in the skies. The brave can often even try gliding themselves and take to the skies over the Rhön together with a trained pilot. Or discover the German Gliding Museum, which is also located on the highest mountain of the Rhön. On an impressively large exhibition area, you can discover gliders and model planes and delve even deeper into the history of the sport.
