The Coal GeoTrail covers just over 5 km through the former coal mining area around Neuhaus-Schierschnitz in Thuringia and explores the Thuringian section of the abandoned mining area on a circular route. The route leads over the remarkable ensemble of church, castle, and palace into the Green Belt to the evidence of the German division and the relics of coal mining. The hiker learns remarkable facts about the extraction and processing of coal as well as the economic importance of electrical porcelain for the Neuhaus-Schierschnitz location. In the secluded forests of the Green Belt, natural paths combine pure enjoyment of nature with exciting knowledge transfer. Views and impressive border stones line the path. If you turn southeast after a detour to the abandoned Minna coal mine, you reach the romantic district of Buch and complete the small round of the Coal GeoTrail. The Coal GeoTrail is suitable for cyclists. If you follow the signage of the GeoTrail towards Stockheim and cross the former patrol path after a short ascent, you reach Bavaria through the Green Belt. On the Bavarian side, in the Frankenwald Nature Park, hikers can explore the entire mining area on the FrankenwaldSteigla "In the Coal Forest." This thematic circular route is 6.8 km long and can be started from the state border. Die Tour führt über das sehenswerte Ensemble von Kirche, Burg und Schloss ins Grüne Band zu den Zeugnissen der deutschen Teilung und zu den Relikten des Steinkohleabbaus. Der Wanderer erfährt Bemerkenswertes zum Abbau und zur Verarbeitung der Steinkohle sowie zur wirtschaftlichen Bedeutung des Elektroporzellans für den Standort Neuhaus-Schierschnitz. In den abgeschiedenen Wäldern des Grünen Bandes verbinden naturbelassene Wege puren Naturgenuss mit spannender Wissensvermittlung. Aussichten und imposante Grenzsteine säumen den Weg. Wendet man sich nach einem Abstecher zur aufgelassenen Steinkohlegrube Minna nach SO, gelangt man zum romantischen Ortsteil Buch und schließt die kleine Runde des GeoPfads Steinkohle. Der GeoPfad Steinkohle ist für Radfahrer geeignet. Folgt ihr der Beschilderung des GeoPfads Richtung Stockheim und quert nach einem kurzen Anstieg den einstigen Kolonnenweg, gelangt ihr durchs Grüne Band nach Bayern. Auf bayerischer Seite, im Naturpark Fankenwald, kann der Wanderer auf dem FrankenwaldSteigla "Im Kohlenwald" das komplette Bergbaugebiet kennenlernen. Le GeoChemin Houille traverse sur environ 5 km l'ancien bassin houiller autour de Neuhaus-Schierschnitz en Thuringe et ouvre le tronçon thuringien de cette zone minière abandonnée lors d'une randonnée circulaire. Le parcours conduit à travers un ensemble remarquable d'église, château fort et château jusqu'à la Bande verte, aux témoignages de la division allemande et aux vestiges de l'exploitation de la houille. Le randonneur découvre des faits intéressants sur l'extraction et la transformation de la houille ainsi que sur l'importance économique de la porcelaine électrique pour le site de Neuhaus-Schierschnitz. Dans les forêts isolées de la Bande verte, des sentiers naturels offrent un pur plaisir de la nature combiné à des savoirs fascinants. Des points de vue et des bornes frontalières impressionnantes jalonnent le chemin. En s'orientant après une excursion à la mine de houille abandonnée Minna vers le sud-est, on atteint le quartier romantique de Buch et boucle la petite boucle du GeoChemin Houille. Le GeoChemin Houille est adapté aux cyclistes. En suivant la signalisation du GeoChemin en direction de Stockheim et en traversant après une brève montée l'ancien chemin de colonne, vous atteignez la Bavière à travers la Bande verte. Du côté bavarois, dans le parc naturel Frankenwald, le randonneur peut découvrir l'ensemble du bassin minier sur le FrankenwaldSteigla "Im Kohlenwald".
