Pourquoi le sentier Sandhasen ? Dans le parler populaire, les habitants de Waldau sont appelés les Wäldner Saandhose. Cela s'explique par la présence ancestrale de gisements de sable sous forme de grès, que les habitants de Waldau ont utilisés pour diverses fins.  Le parcours commence au parking de randonnée Ansbachtal, près de la résidence seniors Bergkristall, et passe par des sites historiques comme le bain public, la carrière de sable et le moulin à corne avant de revenir au parking.  Le sentier passe devant la Maison Henneberger, une ancienne auberge. Le long du chemin, le bain public et la rampe à lait invitent à la détente. La caserne des pompiers rappelle l’histoire de la vieille brigade locale, et ceux qui gravissent le chemin un peu pentu jusqu’au monument sont récompensés par une magnifique vue sur Waldau. Le parcours se poursuit vers la Place de tilleuls avec le nouveau tilleul, autrefois utilisé comme lieu de fête. On peut y faire une courte pause sous le tilleul et ceux qui le souhaitent peuvent faire une petite promenade jusqu’à l’ancienne carrière de sable. Ensuite, on passe devant le four du village, encore en usage, puis vers l’ancienne agence postale, l’ancienne école et l’église. Des peintures significatives de la Renaissance y ont été découvertes. Après le Gasthaus zum deutschen Kaiser, qui a eu diverses utilisations au fil des décennies, le chemin continue vers l’écluse et l’ancienne teinturerie et tannerie. De là, on peut, sur la piste cyclable et le sentier de randonnée, visiter le petit village voisin d’Oberrod, où se trouve la chapelle Saint Wolfgang au riche passé historique.  De la teinturerie, le parcours mène aux moulins de Waldau, au disparu moulin de l’Empereur puis au moulin à corne. De là, il est possible, sur la piste cyclable et le sentier, de se rendre sur le site de l’ancienne verrerie Bulle à Lichtenau.  De la verrerie, on retourne au point de départ au parking de randonnée Ansbachtal. Pour ceux qui ne sont pas encore rassasiés de randonnée, ils peuvent continuer dans la splendide vallée d’Anbachtal en toutes saisons, le long du ruisseau Ansbach et de l’abri « Ooschbochruh » jusqu’au pont Winlindebrücke. Ce parcours circulaire de 3,8 km est non seulement une promenade dans la nature mais aussi un voyage dans le patrimoine culturel de Waldau.

Why Sandhasenrundweg? In popular speech, the inhabitants of Waldau are called the Wäldner Saandhose. The background is that sand deposits in the form of sandstone have always existed in Waldau and were used by the inhabitants of Waldau for various purposes.  Starting from the hiking parking lot Ansbachtal, near the senior residence Bergkristall, the path passes historical sites such as Bathhouse, Sand pit, Hornmühle, then back to the parking lot.  The path goes past the Henneberger House, a former guesthouse. Along the way, the Bathhouse and the Milichrampe invite you to linger. The Firehouse recalls the old fire brigade history of the village, and those who climb the somewhat steep path to the Monument are rewarded with a beautiful view of Waldau. It continues to the Lindenplatz with the new linden tree, which was formerly used as a festival area. Here you can briefly rest under the linden tree, and if you like, take a short walk up to the former Sand pit. The path then passes the Village oven, still in use, the old Post office, the Old school, and the Church. Significant Renaissance-era paintings were discovered in the church. Passing the Guesthouse Zum deutschen Kaiser, which has seen diverse uses over the decades, the route leads towards the lock to the former Dyeing and Tanning factory. Here, on the bicycle and hiking path, you can visit the nearby village of Oberrod, which houses the St. Wolfgang Chapel with historic background.  From the dyeing factory, the path continues to the Waldau mills, the now non-existent Kaisermühle, and further to the Hornmühle. From here, it is possible to walk on the bike and hiking path to the location of the former Glassworks Bulle in Lichtenau.  From the glass factory, the route returns to the starting point at the Ansbachtal hiking parking lot. And if you still have not had enough hiking, you can wander into the beautiful Ansachtal valley, which is stunning at any time of year, along the Ansabach stream and the shelter "Ooschbochruh" to the Winlindebrücke bridge. This 3.8 km long circular route is not just a walk through nature but also a time travel through the cultural heritage of Waldau.

Warum Sandhasenrundweg? Im Volksmund heißen die Waldauer Einwohner die Wäldner Saandhose. Hintergrund ist, das in Waldau von je her Sandvorkommen in Form von Sandstein vorhanden waren, die von den Einwohnern Waldaus für verschiedene Zwecke genutzt wurden.  Beginnend am Wanderparkplatz Ansbachtal, nahe der Seniorenresidenz Bergkristall, führt der Weg vorbei an den historischen Stätten wie Badstube, Sandgrube, Hornmühle vorbei zurück zum Parkplatz.  Der Weg führt am Henneberger Haus, einem ehemaligen Gasthaus, vorbei. Entlang des Weges laden die Badestube und die Millichrampe zum Verweilen ein. Das Spritzenhaus  erinnert an die alte Feuerwehrgeschichte des Ortes und wer den etwas steilen Weg zum Denkmal erklommen hat wird mit einer wunderschönen Aussicht auf Waldau belohnt. Weiter geht es zum Lindenplatz mit der neuen Linde, der früher als Festplatz genutzt wurde. Hier kann man kurz unter der Linde verweilen und wer möchte kann einen kleinen Spaziergang hoch zur ehemaligen Sandgrube machen. Weiter geht es vorbei am Dorfbackofen, der noch immer genutzt wird zur alten Postagentur, der Alten Schule und zur Kirche. In dieser wurden bedeutende Malereien aus der Renaissancezeit entdeckt. Vorbei am Gasthaus zum deutschen Kaiser, welches im Laufe der Jahrzehnte eine vielfältige Nutzung fand, geht es Richtung Schleuse zur ehemaligen Färberei und Gerberei. Hier kann man auf dem Rad- und Wanderweg das nahe gelegene Dörfchen Oberrod besuchen, in dem  sich die St. Wolfgang Kapelle mit historischem Hintergrund befindet.  Von der Färberei geht es weiter zur den Waldauer Mühlen, der nicht mehr vorhandenen Kaisermühle und weiter zur Hornmühle. Von hier aus besteht die Möglichkeit auf dem Rad- und Wanderweg zum Standort des ehemaligen Glaswerks Bulle nach Lichtenau zu laufen.  Vom Glaswerk geht es zurück zum Ausgangspunkt Wanderparkplatz Ansbachtal. Und wer hier immer noch nicht genug vom Wandern hat kann in das zur jeder Jahreszeit wunderschöne Anbachtal wandern, entlang des Ansbaches und der Schutzhütte "Ooschbochruh" zur Winlindebrücke. Dieser 3,8 km lange Rundweg ist nicht nur ein Spaziergang durch die Natur, sondern auch eine Zeitreise durch das kulturelle Erbe von Waldau.
