Der Stadtwald Ziegenrück im Bereich des WaldZukunftsPfades ist durch die wiederkehrende Sommertrockenheit seit dem Jahr 2018 stark geprägt. Auf dieser Fläche wurden die letzten vom Borkenkäfer befallenen Bäume im Frühjahr 2024 gefällt. Innerhalb weniger Jahre hat sich das Waldbild nicht nur hier, sondern auch überregional von Fichtenreinbeständen zu großen Kahlflächen gewandelt. Für viele Waldbesitzendeund Förster stellt dies eine enorme Herausforderung dar. Gesunde Wälder tragen unter anderem durch ihre Wasser- und Co2-Speicherfähigkeit zum Klimaschutz bei und geben zahlreichen Arten einen Lebensraum. Gleichzeitig liefern sie uns Menschen einen der nachhaltigsten Rohstoffe – das Holz. Aus diesen und vielen weiteren Gründen ist es notwendig, die Wiederbewaldung möglichst schnell anzugehen. Dafür gibt es jedoch weder im Verfahren noch in der Baumartenwahl ein Patentrezept. In Kooperation mit dem Thüringer Ministerium für Infrastruktur und Landwirtschaft und der Stadt Ziegenrück als Flächeneigentümerin möchte ThüringenForst, vertreten durch das Forstamt Schleiz, auf dem ca. 1,2 km langen Rundweg Anschauungsbeispiele aufzeigen und zu Ideen anregen. Hier soll den Besuchern Möglichkeiten vorgestellt werden, wie sie ihre geschädigten Waldflächen entsprechend ihrer zeitlichen und finanziellen Kapazitäten wieder in Bestockung bringen können. Auch für den gemeinen Naturliebhaber gibt es einige interessante Dinge zu entdecken.

La forêt communale de Ziegenrück, dans la zone du WaldZukunftsPfad, est fortement marquée depuis 2018 par la récurrence des sécheresses estivales. Sur cette surface, les derniers arbres infestés par le hanneton du pin ont été abattus au printemps 2024. En quelques années, le paysage forestier s’est transformé ici comme dans toute la région, passant de peuplements de sapins purs à de grandes zones dénudées. Cela représente un défi énorme pour de nombreux propriétaires forestiers et forestiers. Les forêts saines contribuent notamment à la protection du climat par leur capacité à stocker l'eau et le CO₂ et offrent un habitat à de nombreuses espèces. Parallèlement, elles fournissent l’une des matières premières les plus durables – le bois. Pour toutes ces raisons et bien d’autres, il est nécessaire de lancer rapidement la reforestation. Cependant, il n’existe ni procédure ni choix d’espèces arbres standards. En coopération avec le ministère thuringien de l’Infrastructure et de l’Agriculture et la ville de Ziegenrück en tant que propriétaire foncier, ThüringenForst, représenté par l’office forestier de Schleiz, souhaite présenter sur le parcours circulaire d’environ 1,2 km des exemples concrets et susciter des idées. Les visiteurs y découvriront des possibilités pour reboiser leurs surfaces forestières endommagées conformément à leurs capacités temporelles et financières. Il y a aussi plusieurs choses intéressantes à découvrir pour les amateurs de nature.

The city forest of Ziegenrück in the area of the WaldZukunftsPfad has been strongly affected by recurring summer droughts since 2018. In spring 2024, the last trees infested by bark beetles on this area were felled. Within a few years, the forest landscape has changed not only here but also regionally from pure spruce stands to large clearings. For many forest owners and foresters, this represents an enormous challenge. Healthy forests contribute, among other things, through their water and CO2 storage capacities to climate protection and provide a habitat for numerous species. At the same time, they supply us humans with one of the most sustainable raw materials – wood. For these and many other reasons, it is necessary to start reforestation as soon as possible. However, there is no patent recipe for either the procedure or tree species selection. In cooperation with the Thuringian Ministry for Infrastructure and Agriculture and the city of Ziegenrück as landowner, ThüringenForst, represented by the Schleiz forestry office, would like to show examples and inspire ideas along the approximate 1.2 km circular path. Visitors are to be shown ways in which they can reforest their damaged forest areas according to their time and financial capacities. There are also some interesting things to discover for the average nature lover.
