Votre parcours vous conduit directement au Schwedenwall, un rempart de terre historique datant de la guerre de Trente Ans. Une plaque d'information explique l'histoire passionnante de ce lieu. Le chemin longe les prairies humides de la réserve naturelle "Steizbrunnen" et monte doucement jusqu'au col entre le Himmeldunkberg et la Hohe Hölle. Depuis l'abri, suivez le sentier le long de la frontière cantonale entre Bavière et Hesse, délimitée en 1872 par des pierres bornes, qui s'élève légèrement au début. Dans la forêt, vous découvrez l'extrémité supérieure du Schwedenwall, également expliquée par une plaque – un autre aperçu du passé militaire de la région. De là, la route descend finalement et retourne au parking. Cette randonnée combine une nature impressionnante avec des traces historiques fascinantes !

Your route leads you directly to the Schwedenwall, a historic earthwork from the time of the Thirty Years' War. An information board explains the fascinating history of this place. The path runs above the wetlands of the Steizbrunnen nature reserve and gently rises to the saddle between Himmeldunkberg and Hohe Hölle. From the shelter, follow the path along the 1872 marked state border between Bavaria and Hesse, which initially rises slightly. In the forest, you will discover the upper end of the Schwedenwall, which is also explained with a board – another insight into the military past of the region. From here, it finally goes down and back to the car park. This hike combines impressive nature with fascinating historical traces!

Ihre Tour führt Sie direkt zum Schwedenwall, einem historischen Erdwall aus der Zeit des Dreißigjährigen Krieges. Eine Hinweistafel erläutert die spannende Geschichte dieses Ortes. Der Weg verläuft oberhalb der Feuchtwiesen des Naturschutzgebietes "Steizbrunnen"  und steigt sanft hinauf zum Sattel zwischen Himmeldunkberg und Hoher Hölle. Von der Schutzhütte aus folgen Sie dem Pfad entlang der 1872 ausgesteinten Landesgrenze zwischen Bayern und Hessen, der zunächst leicht ansteigt. Im Wald entdecken Sie das obere Ende des Schwedenwalls, der ebenfalls mit einer Tafel erklärt wird – ein weiterer Einblick in die militärische Vergangenheit der Region. Von hier aus geht es schließlich hinab und zurück zum Parkplatz. Diese Wanderung verbindet beeindruckende Natur mit faszinierenden historischen Spuren!
