Der TOP-Wanderweg startet direkt am Wanderparkplatz „Rondell“, an dem sich ein Informationspavillon befindet. Zuerst geht es vorbei am alten Grenzhaus Heyerode, einem historischen Zollhaus aus dem 15. Jahrhundert, das mit seinem Torbogen Geschichten aus alten Zeiten erzählt. Nach der Straßenüberquerung tauchst du ein in den dichten Buchenwald, der Teil des Fauna-Flora-Habitates "Hainich" ist, und wanderst entlang des Ortsrands von Heyerode. Weiter führt dich der Weg zum Bildstock am Aschberg, einem kunstvollen Denkmal, das die Verbundenheit der Region mit ihrer Geschichte widerspiegelt Durch die offene Feldflur geht’s weiter zur ehemaligen Bahnstrecke Mühlhausen – Treffurt, die du queren musst. Am sogenannten „Vogelparadies“ kannst du kurz innehalten und die Natur auf dich wirken lassen. Von den Aussichtspunkten „Inselbergblick“ und „Wartburgblick“ hat man einen grandiosen Blick bis hin zur Wartburg und dem Thüringer Wald. Der Weg endet schließlich mit dem Blick auf den Heldrastein und führt dich zurück zum Parkplatz. Zum gemütlichen Ausklingen der Wanderung lohnt sich eine Einkehr beim Qualitätsgastgeber und Naturpark-Partner Landgasthof „Alter Bahnhof“.

D'abord, vous passez devant l'ancienne maison-frontière d'Heyerode, une maison de douane historique datant du 15e siècle, qui raconte des histoires d'autrefois avec son arc de porte. Après avoir traversé la route, tu plonges dans la dense forêt de hêtres, qui fait partie de l'habitat faunistique et floristique "Hainich", et tu marches le long de la périphérie du village d'Heyerode. Le chemin te conduit ensuite au calvaire de l'Aschberg, un monument artistique qui reflète le lien de la région avec son histoire. Tu poursuis ensuite à travers les champs ouverts jusqu'à l'ancienne voie ferrée Mühlhausen – Treffurt, que tu dois traverser. Au soi-disant "paradis des oiseaux", tu peux faire une courte pause et laisser la nature agir sur toi. Des points de vue "Inselbergblick" et "Wartburgblick", la vue est grandiose jusqu'à la Wartburg et la forêt de Thuringe. Le chemin se termine finalement avec la vue sur le Heldrastein et te ramène au parking. The TOP hiking route starts directly at the "Rondell" parking lot, where there is an information pavilion. First, you pass the old Grenzhaus Heyerode, a historic customs house from the 15th century, whose archway tells stories from old times. After crossing the street, you enter the dense beech forest, which is part of the Fauna-Flora Habitat "Hainich," and hike along the edge of the village of Heyerode. The path then leads you to the wayside shrine at Aschberg, an artistic monument that reflects the region's connection to its history. Through the open fields, you continue to the former Mühlhausen – Treffurt railway line, which you have to cross. At the so-called "Bird Paradise" you can pause briefly and let nature affect you. From the viewpoints "Inselbergblick" and "Wartburgblick," you have a magnificent view up to the Wartburg and the Thuringian Forest. The path finally ends with a view of the Heldrastein and leads you back to the parking lot. For a pleasant conclusion to the hike, a visit to the quality host and nature park partner guesthouse "Alter Bahnhof" is worthwhile.
