Der Weg startet am Waldrand und führt auf 1,5 km durch den Wald. Allerdings sollte man viel Zeit einplanen, denn alleine auf dieser kurzen Strecke sind 22 Wichtelhäuser, welche einem den Weg leiten. Bei jedem Haus hängt ein kleiner Zettela auf welchem etwas über die Bewohner der jewiligen Häuser geschrieben steht. Am Anfang des Wichtelwaldes hängt ein Wichtelbriefkasten in welchen Post für die Wichtel eingeworfen werden kann (Leerungszeiten: täglich). Die Waldweg ist eben, allerdings nicht geteert.

The trail begins at the edge of the woods and winds through the forest for 1.5 km. However, you should allow plenty of time, as there are 22 gnome houses along this short stretch alone to guide the way. Each house features a small note describing its inhabitants. At the start of the gnome forest, there is a gnome mailbox where mail for the gnomes can be posted (emptied daily). The forest path is level, though not paved.
