About: Thüringer Bach Collegium, Thuringian Bach Collegium

On May 13, 2018, the Thuringian Bach Collegium gave its founding concert in Arnstadt's Bach Church. This means that our Bach city has its own musical ambassador for the first time in 300 years. The ensemble has now become an integral part of the cultural life of the Free State. The Thuringian Bach Collegium plays works by Johann Sebastian Bach, his ancestors and sons on historical string instruments as well as copies of historical wind instruments. The string instruments are all around 300 years old. They were therefore played during Johann Sebastian Bach's lifetime. The Thuringian Bach Collegium has been heard regularly in Arnstadt since its founding, for example at the annual Bach Festival in March, which you can find out more about on page 27. Its great joy in playing delights the audience and the feature pages alike. It is not only noticeable at concerts, but also on the CD recordings, all of which were made in Arnstadt churches.

Am 13. Mai 2018 gab das Thüringer Bach Collegium sein Gründungskonzert in der Arnstädter Bachkirche. Damit hat unsere Bachstadt erstmalig nach 300 Jahren wieder einen eigenen musikalischen Botschafter. Inzwischen ist das Ensemble ein fester Bestandteil im Kulturleben des Freistaates. Das Thüringer Bach Collegium spielt Werke von Johann Sebastian Bach, seinen Vorfahren und Söhnen - auf historischen Streichinstrumenten sowie Kopien historischer Blasinstrumente. Die Streichinstrumente sind alle um die 300 Jahre alt. Sie sind also schon zu Lebzeiten Johann Sebastian Bachs gespielt worden. Das Thüringer Bach Collegium ist seit seiner Gründung regelmäßig in Arnstadt zu hören, zum Beispiel beim jährlichen Bach-Festival im März. Seine große Spielfreude begeistert das Publikum und die Feuilletons gleichermaßen. Dies ist nicht nur bei Konzerten spürbar, sondern auch auf den CD-Aufnahmen, die allesamt in Arnstädter Kirchen entstanden sind.
