Der „Neue Europäische Kunstsalon Thüringen e.V. „ hat derzeit über 90 Mitglieder und wurde im Jahr 2003 gegründet. Mit großem ehrenamtlichen Aufwand setzte der Kunstverein 2006 die ehemalige Posthalterei in Stand und funktionierte sie zum “Kunsthaus Meiningen” um, das heute ein wichtiger Bestandteil des kulturellen Lebens der Stadt ist. Die Räumlichkeiten erlaubten, dass sich immer mehr Kulturakteure wie Maler, Bildhauer, Kunsthandwerker, Fotografen, Musiker und Schauspieler der Initiative anschlossen und dort in Eigenregie Werkstätten, Proberäume, Ateliers, Veranstaltungs- und Ausstellungsflächen sowie eine Bühne einrichteten.

The "Neue Europäische Kunstsalon Thüringen e.V." currently has over 90 members and was founded in 2003. In 2006, the art association put a great deal of voluntary effort into renovating the former post office and converted it into the "Kunsthaus Meiningen", which is now an important part of the town's cultural life. The premises allowed more and more cultural actors such as painters, sculptors, artisans, photographers, musicians and actors to join the initiative and set up their own workshops, rehearsal rooms, studios, event and exhibition spaces as well as a stage.
