About: Rottenbach

Der größte Ort der ehemaligen Einheitsgemeinde Rottenbach, jetzt ein Ortsteil der Stadt Königsee liegt an der Mündung des Rottenbaches in die Rinne, am nördlichen Rand des Thüringer Waldes sowie im LSG "Rinne-Rottenbachtal". Die Landschaft der umliegenden Ortsteile ist geprägt von der Landwirtschaft (Wiesen, Weiden, Acker, Feldbau) und großen Waldgebieten. Urlauber können sich im Sommer im idyllisch gelegenen Waldbad erholen oder attraktive Wander- und Ausflugsziele u. a. zur Klosterruine in Paulinzella mit Museen im Jagschloss und im Forstamt, zur Burg Greifenstein in Bad Blankenburg und zum Trippstein mit Ausblick in das Schwarzatal in Angriff nehmen. Außerdem ist Rottenbach Anfangs- und Endpunkt der Oberweißbacher Berg- und Schwarzatalbahn.

Rottenbach est également le point de départ et d'arrivée du chemin de fer de la montagne Oberweißbach et de la vallée de la Schwarza.

The largest village of the former unified municipality of Rottenbach, now a district of the town of Königsee, lies at the mouth of the Rottenbach into the Rinne, on the northern edge of the Thuringian Forest and in the LSG "Rinne-Rottenbachtal".
