Le quartier, qui jouit d'une situation idyllique, est situé à environ 6 km au sud de Bad Langensalza et compte 201 habitants (au 31.12.2019). Le village a été mentionné pour la première fois dans un document en 932 sous le nom de "Eccardisleiben". L'église "St. Vitus", qui vaut la peine d'être vue, date de 1404 et est l'une des plus anciennes églises de Thuringe. On peut y voir, entre autres, un lieu de sépulture des Xe et XIe siècles sur une surface vitrée. Les environs d'Eckardtsleben sont caractérisés par l'agriculture. Le village possède des bâtiments ruraux typiques. Le village ne compte pas de tours à plusieurs étages ni de nouveaux bâtiments. D'autre part, les bois et les prairies avec le sentier de randonnée circulaire balisé autour d'Eckardtsleben (environ 12 km), y compris le sentier naturel "Schwarzbachtal", offrent d'excellentes possibilités de randonnée et de loisirs.

The village was first mentioned in a document in 932 under the name "Eccardisleiben". The church "St. Vitus", which is worth seeing, dates back to 1404 and is one of the oldest churches in Thuringia. In it, among other things, a burial place from the 10th/11th century can be seen on a walk-in glass surface. The surroundings of Eckardtsleben are characterized by agriculture. The place has typical rural, structural substances. Multi-story high-rise and new buildings are not to be found in the village. On the other hand, forests and meadows with the signposted hiking trail around Eckardtsleben (approx. 12 km), including the nature trail "Schwarzbachtal", provide excellent hiking and recreational opportunities.

Der idyllisch gelegene Ortsteil befindet sich ca. 6 km südlich von Bad Langensalza und zählt 201 Einwohner (Stand 31.12.2019). Erstmals urkundlich erwähnt wurde der Ort im Jahre 932 unter dem Namen „Eccardisleiben“. Die sehenswerte Kirche „St. Vitus“ stammt aus dem Jahr 1404. Sie ist eine der ältesten Kirchen von Thüringen. In ihr ist u. a. auf einer begehbaren Glasfläche eine Begräbnisstätte aus dem 10./11. Jahrhundert zu besichtigen. Das Umfeld von Eckardtsleben ist von der Landwirtschaft geprägt. Der Ort verfügt über typisch ländliche, bauliche Substanzen. Vielstöckige Hoch- und Neubauten sind im Ortsbild nicht zu finden. Dafür sorgen Wald und Wiesen mit dem ausgeschilderten Rundwanderweg um Eckardtsleben (ca. 12 km), inkl. dem Naturlehrpfad „Schwarzbachtal“ für hervorragende Wander- und Erholungsmöglichkeiten.
