Als gelernte Zimmerin schloss Anita Bach ihr Studium an der Weimarer Hochschule für Architektur mit Auszeichnung ab. Im Jahr 1965 wurde sie als erste Professorin der DDR habilitiert. Während ihrer Leitungsposition im Projektierungsbüro des Ministeriums für Hoch- und Fachschulwesen entstanden zahlreiche Entwürfe zur Erweiterung der Hochschule im Innenstadtbereich. Fünf Jahre hielt sie die Stelle der Prorektorin inne. Bach bestimmte den Architekturdiskurs der DDR maßgeblich mit: unter ihrer Leitung entstanden die Mensa im Park sowie das Studentenwohnheim Jakobsplan, umgangssprachlich auch „Langer Jakob“ genannt. Das Würfelhaus in der Windmühlenstraße 31a, ein mehrgeschossiger Wohnungsbau, soll nach Aussagen der Architektin stilistische Elemente des Bauhauses mit der damaligen, in der DDR typischen Konstruktionsweise aus Fertigteilen vereinen.
As a trained carpenter, Anita Bach completed her studies at the Weimar College of Architecture with distinction. In 1965, she became the first female professor in the GDR to be awarded her habilitation. During her leadership position in the project planning office of the Ministry for Higher Education and Technical Education, she created numerous designs for the expansion of the university in the inner city area. She held the position of prorector for five years. Bach played a decisive role in determining the architectural discourse of the GDR: under her leadership, the Mensa im Park and the Jakobsplan student dormitory, colloquially known as "Langer Jakob", were built. According to the architect, the cube house at Windmühlenstraße 31a, a multi-storey apartment building, is intended to combine stylistic elements of the Bauhaus with the prefabricated construction method typical of the GDR at the time.
Charpentier de formation, Anita Bach a terminé ses études à l'école d'architecture de Weimar avec distinction. En 1965, elle devient la première femme professeur de la RDA à être habilitée. Dans le cadre de son poste de direction au bureau de planification des projets du ministère de l'enseignement supérieur et de l'enseignement technique, elle a créé de nombreuses conceptions pour l'expansion de l'université dans le centre-ville. Elle a occupé le poste de prorecteur pendant cinq ans.
