Nasze stowarzyszenie Stowarzyszenie Turystyczne Las Turyński/Region Gotha e.V. 1 marca 1991 roku 28 entuzjastów turystyki zebrało się w hotelu „Deutscher Hof” w Friedrichrodzie, aby powołać do życia nasze stowarzyszenie turystyczne. Nie zabrakło też silnej woli, by wspólnie to zorganizować.
Our Association Thuringian Forest/Gotha Region Tourism Association, Inc. On March 1, 1991, 28 tourism enthusiasts gathered at the “Deutscher Hof” hotel in Friedrichroda to launch our tourism association. At the time, it was still known as the “Regional Tourism Association of the Central Thuringian Forest e.V.,” because even back then, the motto was: don’t do things by halves—go all out. And it was a huge hurdle that had to be overcome at the time. The GDR’s top travel organizer, the FDGB*, no longer existed, and the traditional travel audience—which had previously been centrally arranged—was no longer traveling to the Thuringian Forest but out into the world. Whether hotels, private lodgings, or health resorts—it was time for a clean break: everything had to start anew, everything had to be different—and fundamentally so. To march together toward the German tourism market, municipalities, lodging and leisure businesses, and the Gotha district itself founded their own association. There was a board of directors, one staff member, and—above all—a huge need to learn, build, and restructure in every area. And there was a strong will to organize this together. Today, our association is the marketing and tourism industry organization in and for the Gotha district. Here, it serves as a link and mediator between local, regional, and national interests. In addition, it handles tasks related to the conceptual development, support, networking, and marketing of the tourism infrastructure within the district and beyond.
Unser Verband Tourismusverband Thüringer Wald/Gothaer Land e.V.
