Die Alte Wache in Bad Lobenstein ist ein echtes Schmuckstück des Klassizismus und gehört genau wie die ehemalige Kutschenremise zum historischen Residenzensemble rund um das Neue Schloss. Sie erzählt von einer Zeit, in der Bad Lobenstein zwischen 1647 und 1824 als Residenzstadt des Fürstentums Reuß jüngerer Linie eine wichtige Rolle spielte. Damals war das Gebäude alles andere als stiller Zuschauer: Ungefähr 12 bis 15 Wachleute waren hier stationiert und sorgten für die Sicherheit der fürstlichen Familie. Heute braucht es zwar keine Wachen mehr, doch die Alte Wache bewacht weiterhin die Geschichte der Stadt – als kulturhistorische Sehenswürdigkeit beherbergt es einen Teil des Stadtarchives und ist beliebter Halt bei einem Spaziergang durch die charmante Altstadt. Direkt vor der Alten Wache befindet sich eine Haltestelle der Stadtbus-Linie.

Elle témoigne d'une époque où Bad Lobenstein jouait un rôle important en tant que ville résidentielle de la principauté de Reuss cadette entre 1647 et 1824. À l'époque, le bâtiment était tout sauf un spectateur silencieux : environ 12 à 15 gardes y étaient stationnés et assuraient la sécurité de la famille princière. Aujourd'hui, il n'y a plus besoin de gardes, mais l'ancienne garde continue de veiller sur l'histoire de la ville. En tant que site culturel et historique, elle abrite une partie des archives municipales et constitue une étape populaire lors d'une promenade dans la charmante vieille ville. Un arrêt de bus se trouve juste devant l'ancienne garde.
The Old Guardhouse in Bad Lobenstein is a real gem of classicism and, like the former coach house, belongs to the historic residential ensemble surrounding the New Palace. It tells of a time when Bad Lobenstein played an important role as the capital of the Principality of Reuss Junior Line between 1647 and 1824. At that time, the building was anything but a silent spectator: approximately 12 to 15 guards were stationed here and ensured the safety of the princely family. Today, there is no longer any need for guards, but the Old Guardhouse continues to guard the history of the town – as a cultural and historical attraction, it houses part of the town archives and is a popular stop on a walk through the charming old town. There is a city bus stop directly in front of the Old Guardhouse.
