Le Haineck, qui compte probablement parmi les derniers châteaux médiévaux construits en Thuringe, a été placé au-dessus de Nazza, à environ 1 km au nord du village, sur la langue terminale d'une crête du Hainich, son bord nord étant directement adossé à la pente abrupte qui descend vers la vallée de Nazza. Il aurait été construit vers 1392 par le landgrave Balthasar comme château de protection contre les attaques des brigands d'Eichsfeld et de Mühlhausen. The Haineck, which is probably one of the last medieval castles built in Thuringia, was erected above Nazza, around 1 km north of the village, on the tongue of a Hainich ridge, with its northern edge lying directly on the steep slope down to the Nazza valley. It is said to have been built by Landgrave Balthasar around 1392 as a protective castle against the predatory raids of the Eichsfeld and Mühlhausen tribes. As the cornerstone of a land defense system, it secured the north-western border of the Landgraviate of Thuringia against the possessions of the Archbishops of Mainz. From the castle tower you have a great view over the landscape. The castle is located on the Hainichland Trail and the Haineck cycle path. It is open to the public.

Die Haineck, welche wahrscheinlich zu den letzten in Thüringen erbauten mittelalterlichen Burgen zählt, wurde oberhalb von Nazza, etwa 1 km nördlich des Dorfes, auf die auslaufende Zunge eines Hainichhöhenzuges gesetzt, wobei ihr nördlicher Rand direkt an den steil zum Nazzaer Tal abfallenden Hang liegt. Sie soll durch Landgraf Balthasar um 1392 als Schutzburg gegen die räuberischen Übergriffe der Eichsfelder und Mühlhäuser errichtet worden sein. Sie sicherte als Eckpunkt eines Landwehrsystems die Nord-West-Grenze der Landgrafschaft Thüringen gegen die Besitzungen der Mainzer Erzbischöfe. Vom Burgturm aus hat man einen tollen Blick über die Landschaft. Die Burg liegt am Hainichlandweg und dem Haineck-Radweg. Sie ist für alle Interessierten öffentlich zugänglich.
