Geisa ist eine Stadt mit bewegter Geschichte und lebendigen Traditionen. Seit der urkundlichen Ersterwähnung 817 lässt sich nachvollziehen, wie das Leben im Geisaer Land von Höhen und Tiefen geprägt war und wie unsere Vorfahren versuchten - trotz oftmals widriger äußerer Einflüsse - das Leben im Geisaer Land bestmöglich zu organisieren. 1200 Jahre Vergangenheit, Freud und Leid, Glanz und Armut, Niedergang und Aufstieg hat Geisa miterlebt und nach der Wiedervereinigung am 03. Oktober 1990 einen Neubeginn gewagt. All diese Etappen der Geisaer Geschichte werden anhand authentischer Exponate in den Räumen des Stadtmuseums dargestellt und erläutert. Das Stadtmuseum ist durch die obere Etage der ANNELIESE DESCHAUER Galerie zu erreichen. Dort widmet sich der "Rote Bereich" international bedeutenden Persönlichkeiten, darunter der Universalgelehrte Athanasius Kircher und der Botaniker Moritz Goldschmidt. Im "Blauen Bereich" werden herausragende Politiker und Unternehmer, Handwerker und Industrielle präsentiert, deren Verdienste über Jahrhunderte hinweg bis heute das Bild der Stadt prägen.
Geisa est une ville à l'histoire mouvementée et aux traditions vivantes. Depuis la première mention documentaire en 817, on peut comprendre comment la vie dans la région de Geisa a été marquée par des hauts et des bas et comment nos ancêtres ont essayé - malgré des influences extérieures souvent défavorables - d'organiser au mieux la vie dans la région de Geisa. Geisa a vécu 1200 ans de passé, de joies et de peines, de splendeur et de pauvreté, de déclin et d'ascension et a osé un nouveau départ après la réunification le 03 octobre 1990. Toutes ces étapes de l'histoire de Geisa sont présentées et expliquées à l'aide d'objets authentiques dans les salles du musée de la ville. On accède au musée de la ville par l'étage supérieur de la galerie ANNELIESE DESCHAUER, où le "secteur rouge" est consacré à des personnalités d'envergure internationale, dont le savant universel Athanasius Kircher et le botaniste Moritz Goldschmidt. Le "secteur bleu" présente des hommes politiques et des entrepreneurs, des artisans et des industriels exceptionnels, dont les mérites ont marqué l'image de la ville au cours des siècles jusqu'à nos jours.
Geisa is a town with an eventful history and living traditions. Since the first documentary mention in 817, it has been possible to trace how life in the Geisa region was characterized by ups and downs and how our ancestors tried - despite often adverse external influences - to organize life in the Geisa region in the best possible way. 1200 years of history, joy and sorrow, splendour and poverty, decline and rise have been experienced in Geisa and after reunification on 3 October 1990, Geisa dared to make a new start. All these stages of Geisa's history are presented and explained using authentic exhibits in the rooms of the town museum. The town museum can be reached via the upper floor of the ANNELIESE DESCHAUER Gallery, where the "red section" is dedicated to internationally important personalities, including the polymath Athanasius Kircher and the botanist Moritz Goldschmidt. The "blue section" presents outstanding politicians and entrepreneurs, craftsmen and industrialists, whose achievements over the centuries have shaped the image of the town to this day.
