Weitisberga ist ein malerischer Ortsteil der Stadt Wurzbach im Saale-Orla-Kreis in Thüringen, 590 m über NN auf der Hochebene eines Gebirgsstocks gelegen und von der kleinen und großen Sormitz umflossen. Der Ort hat etwa 150 Einwohner (Stand: Januar 2017) und umfasst ein Territorium von 532 ha. Gegen Süden wird die Flur vom Henneberg (auch Hünenberg) begrenzt, wo sich ein privates Hartsteinwerk befindet. Der Ortsname und die Sorbenbäche weisen auf eine sorbische Siedlung hin. Weitisberga wurde 1328 erstmals als „Witzdorp“ erwähnt und hat eine lange Geschichte, die bis in die Zeit des Silberbergbaus im 16. Jahrhundert zurückreicht. Sehenswert ist die Dorfkirche, die 1650 neu erbaut wurde und deren 350-jähriges Jubiläum 2000 gefeiert wurde. Weitisberga hat auch ein beliebtes Waldbad, das für Jung und Alt ein Anziehungspunkt ist, und das jährliche Badefest ist zu einer schönen Tradition geworden. Die Gemeinschaft ist aktiv, und im Ort sind Handwerksbetriebe sowie eine Fleischerei ansässig.

Au sud, le terrain est délimité par le Henneberg (également appelé Hünenberg), où se trouve une carrière privée de pierre dure. Le nom du village et les ruisseaux sorabes indiquent la présence d'une colonie sorabe. Weitisberga a été mentionnée pour la première fois en 1328 sous le nom de « Witzdorp » et possède une longue histoire qui remonte à l'époque de l'exploitation minière de l'argent au XVIe siècle. L'église du village, reconstruite en 1650 et dont le 350e anniversaire a été célébré en 2000, vaut le détour. Weitisberga possède également une piscine forestière très appréciée, qui attire petits et grands, et la fête annuelle de la baignade est devenue une belle tradition. Weitisberga is a picturesque district of the town of Wurzbach in the Saale-Orla district of Thuringia, located 590 m above sea level on the plateau of a mountain range and surrounded by the Small and Large Sormitz rivers. The village has about 150 inhabitants (as of January 2017) and covers an area of 532 hectares. To the south, the field is bordered by the Henneberg (also known as Hünenberg), where there is a private hard stone quarry. The place name and the Sorbian streams indicate a Sorbian settlement. Weitisberga was first mentioned in 1328 as "Witzdorp" and has a long history dating back to the silver mining era in the 16th century. The village church, which was rebuilt in 1650 and celebrated its 350th anniversary in 2000, is well worth seeing. Weitisberga also has a popular forest swimming pool that attracts young and old alike, and the annual swimming festival has become a wonderful tradition. The community is active, and the village is home to craft businesses and a butcher's shop.
