The fact that special attention is also paid to addressing young audiences is evidenced by the number of children's and youth concerts as well as performance visits to schools. </p><p>This approach also explains the regular rehearsals for conducting and composition students, with long-standing cooperation with the Weimar "Franz Liszt" Academy of Music as well as with the German Music Council. To preserve the melodious reputation of Thuringia as the home of classical music and to carry it out into the world is both an artistic aspiration and an honorable obligation for the musicians from Gotha and Eisenach.</p>
<p>L'histoire de l'orchestre, recomposé suite à une fusion en août 2017, est étroitement liée à l'histoire des villes de résidence de Gotha et d'Eisenach. La vie culturelle et musicale de la ville de Gotha est continuellement marquée par l'activité de compositeurs et de musiciens de renom. De l'époque baroque à l'époque moderne, l'existence d'un orchestre fiable a permis la croissance d'une tradition musicale vivante, qui est une obligation et une inspiration pour la Thüringen Philharmonie Gotha-Eisenach. Dans la ville voisine d'Eisenach, une telle tradition de cour n'existait pas, mais il a été possible, grâce à l'engagement d'associations musicales bourgeoises, de faire de la ville de la Wartburg un lieu de représentation apprécié pour les concerts, l'opéra et l'opérette ainsi que le théâtre et le ballet. </p><p>Sur les deux sites, l'orchestre, qui a fusionné en 2017 pour devenir la Thüringen Philharmonie Gotha-Eisenach, se voit confier la tâche variée d'assurer, outre une activité de concert exigeante avec des solistes renommés, l'accompagnement orchestral de productions de ballet ainsi que d'agir dans le domaine de la musique de chambre. Le répertoire des musiciens est par conséquent très varié. Presque toutes les époques musicales y sont prises en compte, la musique contemporaine bénéficiant d'une attention appropriée, en plus du classique et du romantique qui attirent le public. Outre l'accent mis sur la "nouvelle musique", la littérature orchestrale symphonique des époques précédentes fait également partie du profil de la Thüringen Philharmonie Gotha-Eisenach. La série baroque "Quatre saisons", créée en 2020, se poursuit et impressionne par les représentations d'excellents spécialistes dans le domaine de la pratique d'exécution historiquement informée. Le nombre de concerts pour enfants et adolescents ainsi que de représentations dans les écoles prouve qu'une attention particulière est en outre accordée au jeune public. </p><p>Cette approche explique également les répétitions régulières pour les étudiants en direction d'orchestre et en composition, avec une collaboration de longue date avec l'Ecole supérieure de musique "Franz Liszt" de Weimar ainsi qu'avec le Conseil allemand de la musique. Préserver la réputation de la Thuringe en tant que patrie de la musique classique et la faire connaître dans le monde entier est à la fois une exigence artistique et un devoir honorable pour les musiciens de Gotha et d'Eisenach.</p>
