Die Stadtkirche Remda (auch St. Simon & Juda) wurde 1744 durch einen Stadtbrand völlig zerstört. Danach wurde sie sofort wieder aufgebaut und die Kirche erhielt ihre heutige Gestalt. 1888 bekam der Raum im Kirchenschiff eine neue Altarwand mit einem Christus-Triptychon vom Maler Edmund Herger. 1846 gründete man einen Orgelbauverein und Orgelbauer August Witzmann aus Stadtilm baute dann das Instrument. Ihre Pfeifen wurden im Ersten Weltkrieg eingeschmolzen. Karl-Heinz Schönefeld restaurierte das Instrument von 2009 bis 2013 und rekonstruierte verlorene Register. Nach der politischen Wende wurde ab dem Jahr 2011 mittels Hilfe der Deutschen Stiftung Denkmalschutz die Orgel restauriert.
L'église municipale de Remda (également appelée St. Simon & Juda) a été entièrement détruite par un incendie en 1744. Elle fut ensuite immédiatement reconstruite et l'église prit sa forme actuelle. En 1888, la salle de la nef fut dotée d'un nouveau mur d'autel avec un triptyque du Christ réalisé par le peintre Edmund Herger. En 1846, on fonda une association de construction d'orgues et le facteur d'orgues August Witzmann de Stadtilm construisit alors l'instrument. Ses tuyaux ont été fondus pendant la Première Guerre mondiale. Karl-Heinz Schönefeld a restauré l'instrument de 2009 à 2013 et a reconstruit les registres perdus. Après le changement de régime politique, l'orgue a été restauré à partir de 2011 avec l'aide de la Fondation allemande pour la protection des monuments.
The town church Remda (also St. Simon & Juda) was completely destroyed by a town fire in 1744. After that it was immediately rebuilt and the church got its current shape. In 1888 the room in the nave got a new altar wall with a Christ triptych by the painter Edmund Herger. In 1846 an organ building association was founded and organ builder August Witzmann from Stadtilm then built the instrument. Its pipes were melted down during the First World War. Karl-Heinz Schönefeld restored the instrument from 2009 to 2013 and reconstructed lost stops. After the political change, the organ was restored from the year 2011 with the help of the German Foundation for Monument Protection.
