Die Nationalparkgemeinde Flarchheim ist ein Dorf mit vielen zweistöckigen Fachwerkhäusern mit Torhäusern. Sie liegt zwischen dem Dingelsbach und dem Eichbach direkt am UNESCO-Nationalpark Hainich. Die erste urkundliche Erwähnung stammt aus dem Jahr 980. Genau einhundert Jahre später fand in Flarchheim die Schlacht zwischen Heinrich IV. und seinem Gegenkönig Rudolf von Schwaben statt. Das Schmuckstück des Ortes ist der Reit- und Sportplatz mit Reithalle, auf dem alle zwei Jahre Reitturniere veranstaltet werden. Im Ort gibt es einen Jugendclub, einen Männergesangverein und eine Gaststätte mit Saal, in dem alljährlich Mai-, Heimat- und Pfingstfeste sowie Fahnenschwingen stattfinden. Die im 15. Jahrhundert erbaute St.-Andreas-Kirche steht in der Mitte des Dorfes auf einer Anhöhe. Die während des Krieges entfernten Glocken wurden im Oktober 1954 durch drei neue Glocken mit Inschriften ersetzt. Die Petersilie-Orgel aus dem 19. Jahrhundert wurde restauriert und am Reformationstag 2006 wieder gespielt. Auch das historische Backhaus ist der Stolz des Dorfes. Der Heimatverein des Ortes lädt dazu ein, altes Handwerk hautnah zu erleben. Vorführungen, technische Erklärungen und Einblicke in die Geschichte des Dorfes werden von engagierten Flarchheimern geboten. Ein Besuch im Backhaus lässt sich mit interessanten Angeboten aus den Nachbargemeinden verbinden. Das Traditionshaus Hainich oder das Opfermoor Niederdorla befinden sich ganz in der Nähe von Flarchheim. Auch die Nähe zum UNESCO-Nationalpark Hainich macht Flarchheim zu einem geeigneten Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen und Radtouren. Über den Parkplatz "Rüspelsweg" können Sie den Hünenteich und den Wildkatzenkinderwald mit Umweltbildungsstation bequem erreichen.

La première mention documentée remonte à l'année 980. 100 ans plus tard exactement, la bataille entre Henri IV et son contre-roi Rudolf de Souabe a eu lieu à Flarchheim. Le joyau du village est le terrain d'équitation et de sport avec le manège, où des concours hippiques sont organisés tous les deux ans. Dans le village, il y a un club de jeunes, un club de chant masculin et un restaurant avec une salle, dans laquelle ont lieu les célébrations annuelles du mois de mai, de la patrie et de la Pentecôte, ainsi que le balancement des drapeaux. L'église St Andrew, construite au 15e siècle, se dresse au centre du village sur une colline. Les cloches, enlevées pendant la guerre, ont été remplacées par trois nouvelles cloches avec inscriptions en octobre 1954. L'orgue Parsley du 19ème siècle a été restauré et joué à nouveau le jour de la Réformation 2006. Le fournil historique est également la fierté du village. The national park community of Flarchheim is a village with many two-storey half-timbered houses with gatehouses. It is situated between the Dingelsbach and the Eichbach directly at the UNESCO National Park Hainich. The first documented mention dates back to the year 980. Exactly one hundred years later, the battle between Henry IV and his counter-king Rudolf of Swabia took place in Flarchheim. The jewel of the village is the riding and sports ground with riding hall, where horse shows are held every two years. In the village there is a youth club, a men's singing club and a restaurant with a hall, in which annual May, homeland and Whitsun celebrations as well as flag swinging take place. St Andrew's Church, built in the 15th century, stands in the centre of the village on a hill. The bells, removed during the war, were replaced by three new bells with inscriptions in October 1954. The 19th century Parsley organ was restored and played again on Reformation Day 2006. The historic bakehouse is also the pride of the village. The local history society of the village invites you to experience old crafts at first hand. Demonstrations, technical explanations and insights into the history of the village are offered by dedicated Flarchheimers. A visit to the bakery can be combined with interesting offers from the neighbouring communities. The traditional house Hainich or the sacrificial moor Niederdorla are very close to Flarchheim. Also the proximity to the UNESCO National Park Hainich makes Flarchheim a suitable starting point for hiking and cycling tours. Via the parking lot "Rüspelsweg" you can easily reach the Hünenteich and the Wildkatzenkinderwald with environmental education station.
