Visible de loin, la tour Luisenturm, construite en 1864, se dresse sur le Hummelsberg près de Kleinkochberg, à 515 m d'altitude. La tour mesure 18 m de haut et 78 marches mènent à la plate-forme d'observation. De là, la vue s'étend sur la vallée de la Saale et la plaque Saale-Ilm jusqu'aux crêtes de la forêt de Franconie et de la forêt de Thuringe. Par temps clair et avec un peu de chance, on peut même apercevoir au loin le Brocken à gauche de l'Ettersberg près de Weimar. En direction de l'est, on pouvait encore voir récemment les cônes de retenue des déblais près de Ronneburg.
