About: Quittelsdorf

Quittelsdorf, ein Ortsteil der Stadt Königsee, wurde als Pfarrdorf urkundlich bereits 1292 erwähnt. Der Ort liegt zu beiden Seiten der Rinne. Nördlich der Rinne wird er von einem Waldgürtel und südlich von Äckern, Felswänden, kleinen Waldinseln und Hügeln umrahmt. Die hier ansässigen Bauern hatten Fron- und Zinsabgaben nach Blankenburg und später an das Kloster Paulinzella. Auf zahlreichen Wanderwegen kommt man z. B. über die "Hegesäule" nach Storchsdorf und von da aus auf dem Thüringenweg nach Paulinzella mit seiner Klosterruine aus dem 12. Jahrhundert, dem Museum zur Kloster-, Forst- und Jagdgeschichte im Jagdschloss und der Ausstellung "Vom Steinbeil bis zur Motorsäge" im Forstamt. Über Fröbitz und vorbei am Trippstein erreicht man das schöne Schwarzatal und in Richtung Leutnitz über den Baropturm und die Burg Greifenstein erreicht man Bad Blankenburg.
