About: Kirchohmfeld

First mentioned in a document in 1217, the little village Kirchohmfeld is the birthplace of the composer Heinrich Werner (1800‐1833), who set Goethe's well known “Heideröslein” to music in the well known folk music melody. The Heinrich Werner Memorial and the “Heinrich Werner Stube”, erected in 1910, commemorate this son of the community. Also worth seeing are the remains of Adelsborn with the old gatehouse and the lovingly restored half‐timbered houses in the village.

Das erstmals 1217 urkundlich erwähnte Kirchohmfeld ist Geburtsort des Komponisten Heinrich Werner (1800‐1833), der Goethes „Heideröslein” in der bekannten Volksmusikmelodie vertont hat. An diesen Sohn der Gemeinde erinnern das 1910 errichtete Heinrich‐Werner‐Denkmal sowie die Heinrich‐ Werner‐Stube. Sehenswert sind außerdem die zum Ort gehörenden Reste von Adelsborn mit altem Torhaus und die liebevoll restaurierten Fachwerkhäuser in dem Dorf.
