Die Rennschlitten- und Bobbahn Oberhof, die sich seit 2020 mit dem Namen LOTTO Thüringen EISARENA schmückt, wurde 1971 als zweite Kunsteisbahn der Welt eingeweiht. Die Anlage gilt durch ihr anspruchsvolles und selektives Kurvenprofil als eine der schwersten Bahnen im internationalen Vergleich. Die packenden Weltcup-Rennen locken jährlich tausende Wintersportfans, Zuschauer und Besucher nach Oberhof. 2023 wird Thüringens Wintersporthochburg dann zum vierten Mal WM-Gastgeber sein. Am Fuße der Bahn befindet sich zudem eine Startanlage (Baujahr 2001), die für den Rennrodel-, Skeleton- und Bobsport gleichermaßen für Training wie auch Wettkämpfe genutzt wird. Dabei ist eine kombinierte Sommer- sowie Winternutzung möglich. Im Sommer 2013 wurde die gesamte Startanlage energieeffizient eingehaust, sodass bei jedem Wetter optimale Trainings- und Wettkampfbedingungen möglich sind.
La piste de luge et de bob d'Oberhof, qui porte depuis 2020 le nom de LOTTO Thüringen EISARENA, a été inaugurée en 1971 comme deuxième piste de glace artificielle au monde. Grâce à son profil de virage exigeant et sélectif, l'installation est considérée comme l'une des pistes les plus difficiles au niveau international. Les courses passionnantes de la Coupe du monde attirent chaque année des milliers de fans de sports d'hiver, de spectateurs et de visiteurs à Oberhof. En 2023, le bastion des sports d'hiver de Thuringe accueillera les championnats du monde pour la quatrième fois. Au pied de la piste se trouve également une installation de départ (construite en 2001) qui est utilisée pour les entraînements et les compétitions de luge, de skeleton et de bobsleigh. Une utilisation combinée en été et en hiver est possible. Au cours de l'été 2013, l'ensemble de l'installation de départ a été encapsulé de manière à consommer peu d'énergie, ce qui permet d'offrir des conditions d'entraînement et de compétition optimales par tous les temps.

At the foot of the track, there is also a start facility (built in 2001) that is used for luge, skeleton and bobsleigh training as well as competitions. Combined summer and winter use is possible.
