In einer landschaftlichen Niederung etwas abseits der Lossa liegt Ellersleben. Die landwirtschaftlich intensiv genutzte Gegend steigt nach Süden hin beträchtlich an. Das durch eine Kreisstraße zu erreichende Dorf besticht mit seiner ruhigen Lage. Mit Bus oder der nahegelegenen „Pfefferminzbahn“ wird der Ort auch durch öffentliche Verkehrsmittel erreicht. Wenn die Felder geerntet und die Sonne langsam an Kraft verliert, dann erstrahlt die Straße nach Ellersleben in herrlichen Herbstfarben. Ein besonderes Highlight ist die „Sankt Elisabeth Kirche“. Nach ihrer Schließung in den 70er Jahren konnte diese mithilfe bürgerlichem Engagements und Unterstützung komplett saniert werden. Erst im Jahr 2009, anlässlich der 800-Jahr-Feier, wurde sie mit ihrem Namen geweiht. Die Dorfmitte wird von einem kleinen Teich und angrenzenden Spielplatz geprägt. Die ehemalige Schule bietet Platz für die Feuerwehr und ein Vereinszimmer. Auch in Ellersleben prägen die Vereine das gesellschaftliche Leben.
