Als Stockmacher in 6. Generation stellen wir in unserer Werkstatt ein umfassendes Sortiment der verschiedensten Stockarten her und gestatten Interessierten, nach Absprache uns bei der Stockherstellung zuzusehen. Als Rohmaterial für die Wanderstöcke dienen bereits seit nahezu 100 Jahren fast ausschließlich Edelkastanien, die derzeit von spanischen Plantagen aus der Nähe Barcelonas kommen. Für Krankenstöcke verwenden wir heimisches Buchenschnittholz. Alle unsere Hölzer werden aus PEFC zertifizierten Wäldern gewonnen. Ein meisterlich handgearbeiteter Stock, meist ebenso dekorativ wie nützlich, ist heute fast schon selten geworden. Bei Gründung der Stockmanufaktur war das noch anders. Wanderstöcke, Spazierstöcke und Flanierstöcke gehörten zum Alltag. Die Kunst ihrer Herstellung wurde in Lindewerra über Generationen in der Familie weitergegeben bis zum heutigen Tag. Bei uns bekommen Sie daher noch die traditionellen Produkte, handwerklich hergestellt aus Kastanienholz und anderen heimischen Gewächsen. Der Jahreslauf bestimmt die Arbeiten. Das Schneiden der Rohlinge, Schälen und Kochen sind Vorarbeiten, die sonst kaum noch zu finden und zu sehen sind. Dreißig verschiedene Arbeitsgänge sind nötig, um einen Wanderstock zu fertigen. In der Werkstatt ist von Frühjahr bis Herbst Hochbetrieb. Vielfältige, individuelle Sonderanfertigungen stehen ebenso auf dem Programm wie die Produktion für Urlaubsgebiete in Deutschland und Europa. Weiterhin finden Sie uns von Himmelfahrt bis Herbstende ganz traditionell auch auf Ausstellungen und Handwerkermärkten in ganz Deutschland. Außerdem können unsere Produkte in Souvenirläden, im Kunstgewerbe, in touristischen Hotspots, wie z.B. Natur- und Nationalparkzentren oder allen bekannten Wandergebieten erworben werden. Die Familie Geyer in Lindewerra, dem Stockmacherdorf Deutschlands im Eichsfeldischen Werratal, verfügt über eine lange und reiche Familientradition bei der Herstellung von Gehstöcken in Handarbeit. Vom Begründer des Stockmacherhandwerks in Lindewerra, Wilhelm Ludwig Wagner, erlernte Conrad Geyer als erstes Familienmitglied um 1850 das traditionelle Handwerk und gab es an seine Nachkommen weiter. Seit dem Jahr 2009 führt Michael Geyer die Stockmanufaktur bereits in 6. Generation. Er übernahm die Produktion der Wanderstöcke von seinem Vater, der jetzt die Gaststätte „Zur Alten Stockmacherei“ betreibt.
As sixth-generation walking stick makers, we produce a comprehensive range of different types of walking sticks in our workshop and allow interested parties to watch us make them by appointment. For almost 100 years, we have used almost exclusively sweet chestnut wood as the raw material for our walking sticks, which currently comes from Spanish plantations near Barcelona. For walking sticks for the disabled, we use local beech wood. All our wood is sourced from PEFC-certified forests. A masterfully handcrafted walking stick, usually as decorative as it is useful, has become almost rare today. When the walking stick factory was founded, things were different. Hiking sticks, walking sticks, and canes were part of everyday life. The art of their manufacture has been passed down through generations of the family in Lindewerra to this day. That's why we still offer traditional products, handcrafted from chestnut wood and other local woods. The work is determined by the cycle of the year. Cutting the blanks, peeling and boiling are preparatory steps that are rarely seen or found elsewhere. Thirty different steps are necessary to produce a walking stick. The workshop is very busy from spring to fall. A wide range of individual custom-made products are on the agenda, as is production for holiday regions in Germany and Europe. From Ascension Day to the end of autumn, you will also find us at traditional exhibitions and craft markets throughout Germany. En tant que fabricants de cannes depuis six générations, nous produisons dans notre atelier une gamme complète de cannes de tous types et permettons aux personnes intéressées, sur rendez-vous, d'observer notre processus de fabrication. Depuis près de 100 ans, nous utilisons presque exclusivement du bois de châtaignier comme matière première pour nos bâtons de randonnée. Ce bois provient actuellement de plantations espagnoles situées près de Barcelone. Pour les cannes médicales, nous utilisons du bois de hêtre local. Tous nos bois proviennent de forêts certifiées PEFC. Un bâton fabriqué à la main de manière magistrale, souvent aussi décoratif qu'utile, est aujourd'hui devenu presque rare. Il en allait autrement lors de la création de la manufacture de bâtons. Les bâtons de randonnée, de marche et de promenade faisaient partie du quotidien. L'art de leur fabrication s'est transmis de génération en génération dans la famille à Lindewerra jusqu'à nos jours. Chez nous, vous trouverez donc encore des produits traditionnels, fabriqués à la main à partir de bois de châtaignier et d'autres essences locales. Le cycle annuel détermine le travail. La coupe des ébauches, l'écorçage et la cuisson sont des travaux préparatoires que l'on ne trouve et ne voit presque plus aujourd'hui. Trente étapes de travail différentes sont nécessaires pour fabriquer un bâton de randonnée. De printemps à automne, l'atelier tourne à plein régime. Nous réalisons des fabrications spéciales variées et personnalisées, mais aussi des produits destinés aux régions touristiques en Allemagne et en Europe. De l'Ascension à la fin de l'automne, vous pouvez également nous trouver, comme le veut la tradition, dans des expositions et des marchés artisanaux dans toute l'Allemagne. Nos produits sont également disponibles dans les boutiques de souvenirs, les magasins d'artisanat, les sites touristiques tels que les centres des parcs naturels et nationaux ou toutes les régions de randonnée connues.
