About: Schloßkulm

Ce petit village idyllique (345 m d'altitude, 66 habitants), situé à mi-chemin entre Rudolstadt et Saalfeld, au pied du Kulm (482 m, la plus haute montagne de la lande), est mentionné pour la première fois dans un document en 1379 sous le nom de "Kolman" (dérivé du mot slave pour montagne ou colline). 14 fermes sont entièrement conservées dans des constructions traditionnelles à colombages. La pierre héraldique de l'une des fermes est particulièrement intéressante. Chaque année, le dimanche de Pentecôte, l'association d'élevage de volailles de race de Schloßkulm et des environs organise un concours de coqs. La montée jusqu'au Kulmberghaus est difficile mais vaut la peine.

Das idyllische Dörfchen (345 m ü. NN, 66 Einwohner), auf halben Weg von Rudolstadt nach Saalfeld am Fuße des Kulm (mit 482 m der höchste Berg der Heide) gelegen, wird 1379 als „Kolman“ (abgeleitet vom slawischen Wort für Berg oder Hügel) erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. 14 Höfe sind vollständig in traditionellem Fachwerkbau erhalten. Besonders interessant ist der Wappenstein an einem der Gehöfte. Alljährlich am Pfingssonntag veranstaltet der Rassegeflügelzuchtverein Schloßkulm und Umgebung ein Hähnewettkrähen. Anstrengend aber lohnend ist ein Aufstieg zum Kulmberghaus.

The idyllic village (345 m above sea level, 66 inhabitants), located halfway from Rudolstadt to Saalfeld at the foot of the Kulm (at 482 m the highest mountain in the Heath), was first mentioned in a document in 1379 as "Kolman" (derived from the Slavic word for mountain or hill). 14 farms are completely preserved in traditional half-timbered construction. Of particular interest is the coat of arms stone on one of the farmsteads. Every year on Whitsunday, the Breeders' Poultry Breeders' Association of Schloßkulm and the surrounding area organizes a chicken crowing competition. A strenuous but rewarding climb is to the Kulmberghaus.
