<p>Im Rahmen eines Renaturierungsprojektes für einen alten Seitenarm der Saale wurde der Wassererlebnisplatz am Sportplatz in Orlamünde angelegt.<br>Beispielhaft könenn hier Jung und Alt die Auswirkungen des menschlichen Eingriffs in den Verlauf der Saale nacherleben. Auf einer Seite ist der natürliche Verlauf der Saale zu sehen, wie sie ich langsam durchs Tal schlängelt und dabei an einigen Stellen über das Ufer tritt. Auf der anderen Seite ist der aktuelle, begradigte Lauf zu sehen. Mit Miniaturgebäuden, sind die Ortschaften zwischen Orlamünde und Jena nachgebildet. Über Pumpen kann Wasser gefördert und verfolgt werden, wie schnell oder langsam die Saale fließt und Hochwasser bedrohlich werden kann. Umweltbildung wird hier erlebbar gemacht.</p>
