About: Kella

Kella ist ein Haufendorf. Es liegt im südlichen Eichsfeld und grenzt im Norden an Pfaffschwende, im Osten an Geismar und Großtöpfer und im Süden und Westen an die Gemeinde Meinhard in Hessen. Die Gemarkungsfläche der Gemeinde liegt zwischen 230 und 520 Metern Höhe. Durch den Ort fließt der Kellaer Bach, der in Schwebda in Hessen in die Werra mündet. Die 494 Einwohner zählende Eichsfeldgemeinde Kella wurde 1141 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt. Seinen Namen verdankt das Dorf der Lage in einer Mulde am Hang der Gobert. Zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten der Gemeinde gehört die 1854 erbaute Kirche. Sie ist dem Heiligen Martinus geweiht. Zur wertvollen Kirchenausstattung zählen der Barockaltar (1778), dessen barockes Ölgemälde aus einem Zisterzienserkloster stammt und der Taufstein. Eine Besonderheit im Eichsfeld stellt neben der Kirche stehende Glockenturm dar (1909). Sehenswert ist auch die Kapelle am Hang der Gobert, die 1867 erbaut, im 2. Weltkrieg zerstört und 1945 wieder aufgebaut wurde. Lange Jahre war sie für die Einwohner von Kella unzugänglich, da dieses Gotteshaus zwischen den beiden Grenzzäunen der innerdeutschen Grenze stand. Zur Kapelle führt ein Kreuzweg, der am Ende der Gobertstraße beginnt. Wie durch ein Wunder wurden Kapelle und Kreuzweg durch den Bau der Grenzsicherungsanlagen nicht zerstört, nur eine Station wurde verschüttet und bis heute nicht gefunden. In der Nähe der Kapelle befindet sich eine Schutzhütte mit Grillstation. Sehr schön wurden die Parkanlagen am Ortsein- bzw. ausgang angelegt. Die reizvolle Landschaft um Kella bietet eine Vielzahl und Wanderwegen. Beliebtes Wanderziel ist die Gobert, mit 537 m eine der höchsten Erhebungen des Eichsfeld. Einen schönen Ausblick erhält man vom Felsvorsprung „Eichsfeldblick“ aus. Von der nahegelegenen Silberklippe zur Salzfrau, zum Wolfstisch, zum Pferdloch um zum Kalkofen, jeder für sich ein interessanter Aussichtspunkt mit sagenumwobener Geschichte. Kella präsentiert sich heute dem Besucher als ein sehr gepflegter Ort mit eichsfeldtypisch gestalteten Anlagen auch im Ortskern. 1996 wurde Kella im Wettbewerb „Unser Dorf soll schöner werden“ als schönstes Dorf im Kreis und Land Thüringen ausgezeichnet.

Le village doit son nom à sa situation dans une cuvette sur le versant du Gobert. L'église, construite en 1854, fait partie des curiosités de la commune. Elle est dédiée à Saint Martin. L'autel baroque (1778), dont la peinture à l'huile baroque provient d'un monastère cistercien, et les fonts baptismaux font partie de la précieuse décoration de l'église. Le clocher situé à côté de l'église (1909) est une particularité dans l'Eichsfeld. La chapelle sur le versant du Gobert, construite en 1867, détruite pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale et reconstruite en 1945, vaut également le détour. Pendant de longues années, elle a été inaccessible aux habitants de Kella, car ce lieu de culte se trouvait entre les deux clôtures de la frontière interallemande. Un chemin de croix mène à la chapelle, qui commence au bout de la Gobertstraße. Miraculeusement, la chapelle et le chemin de croix n'ont pas été détruits par la construction des installations de sécurité frontalières, seule une station a été ensevelie et n'a toujours pas été retrouvée. Un refuge avec barbecue se trouve à proximité de la chapelle. Les parcs à l'entrée et à la sortie du village ont été très bien aménagés. Le charmant paysage autour de Kella offre une multitude de sentiers de randonnée. Le Gobert, l'un des plus hauts sommets de l'Eichsfeld avec ses 537 m, est un but de randonnée très apprécié. On a une belle vue depuis le promontoire rocheux "Eichsfeldblick". De la "Silberklippe" (falaise d'argent) à la "Salzfrau" (femme du sel), à la "Wolfstisch" (table du loup), au "Pferdloch" (trou du cheval) et au "Kalkofen" (four à chaux), chacun est un point de vue intéressant avec une histoire légendaire. Aujourd'hui, Kella se présente au visiteur comme un lieu très bien entretenu, avec des installations typiques de l'eichsfeld, y compris au centre du village. En 1996, Kella a été élu plus beau village de l'arrondissement et du land de Thuringe dans le cadre du concours "Notre village doit être plus beau".

A Way of the Cross leads to the chapel, starting at the end of Gobert Street. Miraculously, the chapel and the Way of the Cross were not destroyed by the construction of the border fences; only one station was buried and has not been found to this day. Near the chapel there is a shelter with a barbecue station. The parks at the entrance and exit of the village are very beautiful. The charming landscape around Kella offers a variety of hiking trails. A popular hiking destination is the Gobert, with 537 m one of the highest elevations of the Eichsfeld. You can get a beautiful view from the rocky outcrop "Eichsfeldblick". From the nearby silver cliff to the salt woman, to the wolf table, to the horse hole around to the lime kiln, each for itself an interesting viewpoint with legendary history. Today, Kella presents itself to the visitor as a very well-kept place with facilities typical for the Eichsfeld, even in the village center. In 1996 Kella was awarded in the competition "Our village should become more beautiful" as the most beautiful village in the district and country Thuringia.
