Der Weimarer Ortsteil Taubach ist der älteste urkundlich erwähnte Mühlenstandort in Thüringen – bereits im Jahr 1120 wurde im kleinen Dörfchen an der Ilm die erste Mühle schriftlich dokumentiert. Heute stehen das Gebäude und das Wasserrad unter Denkmalschutz, sind aber idealer und beliebter Rastpunkt für Aktive entlang des Ilmtal-Radwegs. Bis 1990 wurde hier Schrot gemahlen, nach umfangreicher Restaurierung kann nun am idyllischen Standort mitten im Landschaftsschutzgebiet Strom erzeugt werden. Der Fachwerkbau der Mühle wird nach Teilabbruch und -neubau heute privat genutzt.
Le quartier de Taubach à Weimar est le plus ancien site de moulin mentionné dans des documents en Thuringe - le premier moulin a été documenté par écrit dès 1120 dans le petit village sur l'Ilm. Aujourd'hui, le bâtiment et la roue à eau sont classés monuments historiques, mais ils constituent un point de repos idéal et apprécié des personnes actives le long de la piste cyclable de la vallée de l'Ilm. Jusqu'en 1990, on y moulait de la farine concassée. Après d'importants travaux de restauration, il est désormais possible de produire de l'électricité sur ce site idyllique au cœur d'un paysage protégé. Après avoir été partiellement démoli et reconstruit, le bâtiment à colombage du moulin est aujourd'hui utilisé à des fins privées.
The Weimar district of Taubach is the oldest documented mill site in Thuringia - the first mill was documented in writing in the small village on the Ilm as early as 1120. Today, the building and the water wheel are under monumental protection, but they are an ideal and popular resting point for active cyclists along the Ilmtal cycle path. Grist was ground here until 1990, and after extensive restoration, electricity can now be generated at the idyllic location in the middle of the landscape conservation area. After partial demolition and reconstruction, the half-timbered building of the mill is now used privately.
