Die Wanderung führt die Besucher durch abwechslungsreiche Landschaften im und am Nationalpark Hainich. Seit einiger Zeit befindet sich hier das Reich der Wildkatze. Ebenso der Luchs, eines der größten Raubtiere Europas, ist hier mittlerweile wieder nachgewiesen worden. Zu sehen bekommt man die beiden scheuen und seltenen Tiere in der Wildkatzenschauanlage und im benachbarten Luchsgehege. Weitere interessante Informationen erhält der Besucher in der Wildkatzenscheune. Ein Höhepunkt des Weges im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes ist der Besuch der Aussichtsplattform „Hainichblick“, die einen weitschweifenden Ausblick auf das UNESCO Weltnaturerbe des Nationalparks Hainich sowie bis zum Thüringer Wald und zur Rhön ermöglicht.

La randonnée conduit les visiteurs à travers des paysages variés dans et autour du parc national de Hainich. Depuis quelque temps, c’est ici que se trouve le royaume du chat sauvage. Le lynx, l'un des plus grands prédateurs d'Europe, y a également été à nouveau observé. On peut voir ces deux animaux timides et rares dans la zone d'exposition des chats sauvages et dans l'enclos à lynx adjacent. Les visiteurs obtiennent également des informations intéressantes dans la grange des chats sauvages. Un point fort du parcours, au sens propre du terme, est la visite de la plateforme d'observation « Hainichblick », qui offre une vue panoramique large sur le patrimoine naturel mondial de l'UNESCO du parc national de Hainich ainsi que sur la forêt de Thuringe et la Rhön.

The hike leads visitors through varied landscapes in and around the Hainich National Park. For some time now, this has been the realm of the wildcat. The lynx, one of Europe's largest predators, has also been recorded here again. Visitors can see these two shy and rare animals in the wildcat exhibition area and in the neighbouring lynx enclosure. Further interesting information is available in the Wildcat Barn. A highlight of the trail, in the truest sense of the word, is the visit to the "Hainichblick" viewing platform, which offers far-reaching views of the UNESCO World Natural Heritage site of the Hainich National Park as well as of the Thuringian Forest and the Rhön.

Es empfiehlt sich aber, die Strecke im Uhrzeigersinn zu begehen, um am Ende die Schauanlage und die Wildkatzenscheune zu besichtigen.</p> <p>Beim Verlassen des Ortes passieren wir das Herrenhaus und gelangen über ein Feld allmählich bergan zum <strong>Mittelberg</strong>.</p> <p>Hinter der Nationalparkgrenze geht der relativ breite Weg in einen schmaleren über.</p> <p>Nachdem wir eine hölzerne Brücke überquert haben, laufen wir nun durch Offenland, wobei mit dem Hainichblick bereits ein weiteres Zwischenziel ins Blickfeld rückt.</p> <p>Etwa 800 m vor der Aussichtsplattform lädt eine überdachte Sitzgruppe zur Rast ein. Nach weiteren 400 m zweigt rechterhand ein Weg zur <strong>Aussichtsplattform “Hainichblick”</strong> ab. Die 20,60 m hohe Aussichtsplattform "Hainich-Blick" wurde 2011 eröffnet. Sie liegt am Südrand des Nationalparks Hainich auf dem 448 m hochgelegenen Heidelberg. Von hier kann man einen beeindruckenden Rundum-Blick über den Hainich, den Thüringer Wald mit Großen Inselsberg, zur Rhön und zur Wartburg genießen</p> <p>Nachdem wir weitere 400 m zurückgelegt haben, erreichen wir die <strong>Dicke Eiche</strong>. Bis ins Ziel begleitet uns nun auch der Hainichlandweg.</p> <p>Durch ein Waldstück nehmen wir den allmählichen Abstieg zur <strong>Wüstung Heßwinkel</strong> vor.</p> <p>Nun folgen wir dem Wanderwegweiser in Richtung Hütscheroda. An verschiedenen Skulpturen vorüber, führt der Weg zum <strong>Wangenheimer Grenzstein</strong> und anschließend zur <strong>Schauanlage „Wildkatzenlichtung“</strong>.</p> <p>Diese ist über eine Holzbrücke mit dem 4000 Quadratmeter großen und bewaldeten <strong>Luchsgehege</strong> verbunden. Von hier führt ein kurzer Asphaltweg an der <strong>Wildkatzenscheune</strong> vorbei zurück zum <strong>Parkplatz</strong>. Wer mag, kann auch im Herrenhaus einkehren und Eine wohl verdeinte Stärkung zu sich nehmen.</p>

Der Wildkatzenpfad kann in beiden Richtungen begangen werden. Es empfiehlt sich aber, die Strecke im Uhrzeigersinn zu begehen, um am Ende die Schauanlage und die Wildkatzenscheune zu besichtigen. Beim Verlassen des Ortes passieren wir das Herrenhaus und gelangen über ein Feld allmählich bergan zum Mittelberg. Hinter der Nationalparkgrenze geht der relativ breite Weg in einen schmaleren über. Nachdem wir eine hölzerne Brücke überquert haben, laufen wir nun durch Offenland, wobei mit dem Hainichblick bereits ein weiteres Zwischenziel ins Blickfeld rückt. Etwa 800 m vor der Aussichtsplattform lädt eine überdachte Sitzgruppe zur Rast ein. Nach weiteren 400 m zweigt rechterhand ein Weg zur Aussichtsplattform “Hainichblick” ab. Die 20,60 m hohe Aussichtsplattform "Hainich-Blick" wurde 2011 eröffnet. Sie liegt am Südrand des Nationalparks Hainich auf dem 448 m hochgelegenen Heidelberg. Von hier kann man einen beeindruckenden Rundum-Blick über den Hainich, den Thüringer Wald mit Großen Inselsberg, zur Rhön und zur Wartburg genießen Nachdem wir weitere 400 m zurückgelegt haben, erreichen wir die Dicke Eiche. Bis ins Ziel begleitet uns nun auch der Hainichlandweg. Durch ein Waldstück nehmen wir den allmählichen Abstieg zur Wüstung Heßwinkel vor. Nun folgen wir dem Wanderwegweiser in Richtung Hütscheroda. An verschiedenen Skulpturen vorüber, führt der Weg zum Wangenheimer Grenzstein und anschließend zur Schauanlage „Wildkatzenlichtung“. Diese ist über eine Holzbrücke mit dem 4000 Quadratmeter großen und bewaldeten Luchsgehege verbunden. Von hier führt ein kurzer Asphaltweg an der Wildkatzenscheune vorbei zurück zum Parkplatz. Wer mag, kann auch im Herrenhaus einkehren und Eine wohl verdeinte Stärkung zu sich nehmen.
