Le parcours sur le Habelberg est l'une des randonnées les plus exigeantes mais aussi les plus panoramiques autour de Tann. Par le massif rocheux du Habelstein (680 m) avec une vue magnifique, il passe par le village de Habel, puis par le Seeles et le Kothenberg. Lors de la descente vers Neuswarts, on est largement récompensé pour les efforts de la montée par des vues fantastiques sur le Kegelspiel hessois et plus loin dans la vallée de la Werra. Il faut accepter de longues montées et aussi des sections asphaltées.

The route over the Habelberg is one of the most challenging but also most scenic hikes around Tann. Over the rock massif at Habelstein (680 m) with a magnificent view, it passes the village of Habel and continues over the Seeles and Kothenberg. On the descent to Neuswarts, you are richly rewarded for the effort of the ascent with fantastic views into the Hessian Kegelspiel and further into the Werratal. Longer uphill and asphalt sections must be accepted.

Am Naturdenkmal der alten Hutbuchen vorbei reicht der Blick beim Abstieg nach Neuswarts weit ins Werratal hinein auf die Kaliabraumhalden von Unterbreizbach und Phillipstal. Über Günthers und den Hasenwald erreicht man den Ausgangsort Tann.
