Der Weg führt durch den Stadtpark zur Preller Linde und dann Richtung Steinbachtal zum kleinen Hermannstein. Hier hat man eine schöne Aussicht auf den im Tal liegenden Ortsteil Manebach. Vorbei an der alten Sophienquelle geht es auf den Goethewanderweg zum Hermannstein. Der Hermannstein bietet eine hervorragende Aussicht von seiner Aussichtsplattform. Am Fuße des Felsens befindet sich die Hermannsteinhöhle, welche Goethe am 6.August 1776 mit Frau von Stein besuchte. Weiter auf dem Goethewanderweg ist das nächste Ziel das Goethehäuschen auf dem Kickelhahn. Hier entstanden Goethes unvergängliche Verszeilen: " Über allen Gipfeln ist Ruh ...". Über die historische Jagdanlage erreichen wir den Kickelhahnturm, von wo wir einen Blick über den Thüringer Wald und die Stadt Ilmenau genießen. Nun geht der Weg bergab zum Museum Jagdhaus Gabelbach , weiter auf der Buchenalle zum Scheffeldenkmal. Nach Überquerung der Waldstraße geht es auf der alten Rodelbahn zum Ritzebühler Teich. Über die Waldstraße vorbei am Lessingpark und Bahnhof Bad geht es zurück über die Naumannstraße zur Festhalle.

Ici, on a une belle vue sur le quartier de Manebach situé dans la vallée. En passant par l'ancienne source Sophien, on se dirige vers le sentier de randonnée Goethe jusqu'au Hermannstein. Le Hermannstein offre une vue remarquable depuis sa plateforme d'observation. Au pied du rocher se trouve la grotte Hermannstein, que Goethe a visitée le 6 août 1776 avec Madame von Stein. Plus loin sur le sentier Goethe, la prochaine étape est la Goethehäuschen sur le Kickelhahn. C'est ici qu'ont été créés les vers immortels de Goethe : "Au-dessus de tous les sommets règne le silence...". Par le site historique de chasse, nous atteignons la tour de Kickelhahn, d'où nous profitons d'une vue sur la forêt de Thuringe et la ville d'Ilmenau. Le chemin descend maintenant vers le Musée Maison de Chasse Gabelbach , puis continue sur la Buchenallee jusqu'au monument Scheffelden. Après avoir traversé la Waldstraße, le parcours suit l'ancienne piste de luge jusqu'à l'étang Ritzebühler. Ensuite, on longe la Waldstraße en passant par le parc Lessing et la gare Bad pour revenir via la Naumannstraße à la Festhalle.

The path leads through the city park to the Preller Linden and then towards the Steinbach Valley to the small Hermannstein. Here, you have a beautiful view of the district of Manebach located in the valley. Past the old Sophie Spring, it continues on the Goethe hiking trail to the Hermannstein. The Hermannstein offers an excellent view from its observation platform. At the foot of the rock, there is the Hermannstein Cave, which Goethe visited on August 6, 1776, with Mrs. von Stein. Continuing on the Goethe hiking trail, the next destination is Goethe's Cabin on the Kickelhahn. Here, Goethe's immortal verses were created: "Over all the peaks is rest ..." Via the historic hunting grounds, we reach the Kickelhahn tower, from where we enjoy a view over the Thuringian Forest and the town of Ilmenau. Now the path goes downhill to the Museum Hunting Lodge Gabelbach, then on the Beech Alley to the Scheffel Monument. After crossing Waldstraße, it continues on the old toboggan run to the Ritzebühler Pond. Over Waldstraße past Lessing Park and Bad station, it goes back via Naumannstraße to the Festhalle.
