Der 12,1 km lange Rundweg beginnt am Wanderparkplatz an der Burg Scharfenstein. Von hier kann man einen Abstecher zur Burg Scharfenstein unternehmen und den wunderschönen Ausblick genießen. Dann geht es los auf dem Kammweg durch abwechslungsreichen Mischwald zur Schönen Aussicht „Herrenberg“, wo ein schöner Rastplatz mit Fernsicht wartet. Noch ein kleines Stück verläuft der Weg durch den Wald, dann tritt man in die lichte Feldflur, um kurz darauf die Wüstung Steinhagen mit der Kapelle Steinhagen zu entdecken. Weiter geht es durch die lichte Feldflur zum Galgenkopf bei Kreuzbra, einem der Sage nach ehemals wendischen (slawischen) Heiligtum mit einer bezaubernden Aussicht aufs Eichsfeld. Nun führt der Weg am Rande von Kreuzebra entlang, weiter geht es den Hasengrund sanft hinauf durch eine malerische Allee zurück zum Ausgangspunkt der Wanderung. Die Burg Scharfenstein bietet eine Möglichkeit zur Einkehr und einem herrlichen Weitblick ins Eichsfeld, auf das Ohmgebirge bis hin zum Harz.

Le circuit de 12,1 km commence au parking de randonnée près du château de Scharfenstein. De là, on peut faire un détour par le château de Scharfenstein et profiter de la vue magnifique. Ensuite, le parcours débute sur le sentier de crête à travers une forêt mixte variée jusqu'au beau point de vue "Herrenberg", où une belle aire de repos avec vue panoramique attend. Le chemin continue encore un peu en forêt, puis on entre dans la plaine dégagée, pour peu après découvrir le site déserté de Steinhagen avec la chapelle Steinhagen. La randonnée se poursuit à travers la plaine dégagée jusqu'au Galgenkopf près de Kreuzbra, ancien sanctuaire slave selon la légende, avec une vue charmante sur l'Eichsfeld. Le chemin longe ensuite la périphérie de Kreuzebra, puis monte doucement à travers une allée pittoresque dans la vallée Hasengrund jusqu'au point de départ de la randonnée. Le château de Scharfenstein offre une possibilité de restauration et une vue splendide sur l'Eichsfeld, la chaîne de montagnes Ohmgebirge et jusqu'au Harz.

The 12.1 km circular route starts at the hiking parking lot at Scharfenstein Castle. From here, you can take a detour to Scharfenstein Castle and enjoy the beautiful view. Then the route continues along the ridge path through varied mixed forest to the "Schönen Aussicht Herrenberg" lookout, where a nice resting spot with panoramic view awaits. The path continues a little further through the forest, then enters the bright open fields to soon discover the abandoned village of Steinhagen with the Steinhagen Chapel. It continues through the open fields to Galgenkopf near Kreuzbra, which according to legend was formerly a Wendish (Slavic) sanctuary with a charming view over Eichsfeld. The path then leads along the edge of Kreuzebra, then gently ascends through a picturesque avenue back to the starting point of the hike. Scharfenstein Castle offers an opportunity to rest and enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of Eichsfeld, the Ohmgebirge, and as far as the Harz mountains.
