Arlesberger Braunsteinweg: Technik erleben - Natur genießen Im 17. Jh. begann im Arlesberger Revier der Abbau von Manganerzen. Die Thüringer Manganerze galten wegen ihrer Reinheit als die „Besten“ weltweit. Das Arlesberger Braunsteinrevier war eines der bedeutenden Abbaugebiete von Manganerz in Europa. Als eine Besonderheit kann der nachgebildete sogenannte Walenstein angesehen werden. Er erinnert an die Anwesenheit der Venezianer (auch Walen genannt), die schon im Mittelalter mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit (alte Flurbezeichnungen) in dieser Region Erze für ihre heimischen Glashütten und Porzellanmanufakturen suchten.

Chemin du Braunstein d'Arlesberg : vivre la technique - profiter de la nature Au 17e siècle, l'extraction des minerais de manganèse a commencé dans la zone d'Arlesberg. Les minerais de manganèse de Thuringe étaient considérés comme les « meilleurs » au monde en raison de leur pureté. La zone minière Braunstein d'Arlesberg était l'un des principaux sites d'extraction de manganèse en Europe. Une particularité est la reconstitution de ce que l'on appelle la « pierre Walen ».
