Highlights der Tour:  1 Blick von der Saale zur Stammburg der Wettiner Entlang der Saale erstreckt sich die 500 m lange Burganlage auf einem Porphyrfelsen. Der Betrachter erkennt die Dreigliedrigkeit der Burg. Auf der Felsspitze thront der Winckelturm der Unterburg. In westliche Richtung folgt der langgestreckte Mittelburgbereich. Die Oberburg mit dem würfligen Aussichtpunt schließ das Burgareal ab. Von der Unterburg ausgehend wurde die Anlage nach links bis zur Oberburg unter den Wettiner Grafen erweitert. Die Burganlage beherbergt heute ein Gymnasium mit Zweig für bildende Kunst. Die Außenbereiche und das Burgcafé sind öffentlich zugänglich. Als Landmarke zieht die Schachthalde Johannashall am Horizont den Blick auf sich. Außerdem ist die Teilung der Saale in drei Arme zu erkennen. Burgstraße 5, 06193 Wettin-Löbejün 3 Unterburg mit Vorburg (Petersgarten) Archäologische Funde belegen eine frühe Besiedlung des Felsensporns. Bereits im 6. Jahrhunderts sind Sorben an der Saale nachweisbar. Auf dem Bergrücken errichteten sie zunächst eine Zufluchtsstätte. Später entstand daraus eine Grenzfeste, als Rückzug gegen die vordringenden Franken. Mit der Eroberung der westslawischen Gebiete unter König Heinrich I. wurde die Burg zum Zentrum eines Verwaltungsbezirkes. 961 fand sie erstmals urkundliche Erwähnung in einer Zehntvergabe des Kaisers an das zu gründende Magdeburger Kloster. Die Familie der Budziker (später Wettiner) gelangte spätestens Mitte des 11. Jahrhunderts in den Besitz der Burg Wettin. Als Vorfahren der späteren Markgrafen, Kurfürsten, Thüringer Herzöge und Sächsischen Könige residierten sie bis ins 13. Jahrhundert auf der Burg. Im Bereich der Vorburg (Petersgarten) stand die Petrikapelle. Burgstraße 5, 06193 Wettin-Löbejün 4 Mittelburg Die Mittelburg diente immer wirtschaftliche Zwecken. Sie beherbergte Stallungen, Scheunen und den sogenannten Amtsgarten. Ein Teil der Mittelburg (stadtseitig) befindet sich im Privatbesitz einzelner Familien. Der Saaleflügel gehört zum Burg – Gymnasium mit Unterrichtsräumen und der Verwaltung. Burgstraße 4, 06193 Wettin-Löbejün 5 Erstes Bergamt Wettin hat eine sehr alte Bergbaugeschichte. Erstmals wurden 1382 Steinkohlevorkommen erwähnt. Die Entdeckung der Kohle geht, laut einer Sage, auf einen Schäfer zurück, der als erster das schwarze Gold am Tierberg in Wettin fand. Das erste Bergamt ist 1691 nachweisbar. Burgstraße 8, 06193 Wettin-Löbejün 6 Oberburg Die Oberburg ist die zweite Kernburg der Anlage. Sie wurde in Form einer Rundburg errichtet. In der Mitte befand sich ein mächtiger Bergfried. 1955 zog hier die Spezialschule für Schäfer ein. Heute gehört auch die Oberburg zum Burg – Gymnasium Wettin. Burgstraße 3, 06193 Wettin-Löbejün 7 Rathaus Das Rathaus Wettin beeindruckt durch seinen markanten Turm an der Front des Gebäudes. Es wurde 1660 nach zwei großen Stadtbränden im Stil der Renaissance wiedererrichtet. Urkunden berichten von einem Ratskeller, einem Sitzungssaal und einem Verwaltungszimmer. Zurzeit wird das Gebäude multifunktional genutzt. Es beherbergt u. a. die Wettin–Information. Bürgerhäuser umsäumen das Areal auf dem einst Brauhäuser errichtet waren. Heute entdecken Besucher ein Miniaturmodell der Templerkapelle. Marktplatz, 06193 Wettin-Löbejün 9 Nikolaikirche Die Nikolaikirche wurde im 12. Jahrhundert im romanischen Stil als Bürgerkirche errichtet und später gotisch umgestaltet. In den Jahren der DDR – Zeit verfiel die Kirche. Sie konnte bereits 1958 nicht mehr genutzt werden. Erst 1990 begannen die ersten Sanierungsarbeiten. Heute findet der Besucher eine moderne, helle Kirche im historischen Mantel vor, in der Gottesdienste und Konzerte stattfinden. Wechselnde Kunstausstellungen bereichern den Kirchraum. Dies ist das königlich preußische Bergamt von 1820. Bis zur Schließung der Gruben 1893 unterstand diesem Amt der gesamte Abbau im nördlichen und mittleren Saalkreis. Jahrhunderts von Wilhelm Walter gestaltet wurde, befindet sich in einem etwas kleineren Format an einer Scheunenwand in einem Abzweig der Saalestraße. Ruhebänke laden zum Betrachten der Wandtafel ein, auf der 34 Markgrafen, Herzöge, Kurfürsten und Könige aus dem Fürstenhaus der Wettiner zu sehen sind. Imposant sind die Beinamen der Wettiner. Saalestraße 8–9, 06193 Wettin-Löbejün 12 Templerkapelle im OT Mücheln Die hochgotische Templerkapelle in Wettin OT Mücheln ist eine der letzten erhaltenen Templerkapellen Mitteleuropas. Errichtet wurde sie mit der Unterstützung der Grafen von Brehna – Wettin um 1280 auf einem Ordenshof der Templer. Die Kapelle befindet sich im Besitz der Stadt Wettin – Löbejün. Seit 1989 wird sie restauriert und für kulturelle Veranstaltungen genutzt. Highlights of the tour:  1 View from the Saale to the ancestral castle of the Wettiners Along the Saale, the 500 m long castle complex stretches over a porphyry rock. The viewer recognizes the tripartite structure of the castle. The Winckel Tower of the lower castle crowns the rock peak. To the west follows the elongated middle castle area. The upper castle with the cubic viewing point closes the castle area. Starting from the lower castle, the complex was extended to the left up to the upper castle under the Wettiner counts. Today, the castle complex houses a grammar school with a branch for fine arts. The outdoor areas and the castle café are open to the public. Sorbs are already documented on the Saale in the 6th century. They initially built a refuge on the ridge. Later this became a border fortress as a retreat against the advancing Franks. With the conquest of the West Slavic territories under King Henry I, the castle became the center of an administrative district. In 961 it was mentioned for the first time in a document involving a tithe grant from the emperor to the Magdeburg monastery to be founded. The Budziker family (later Wettiner) came into possession of Wettin Castle by the mid-11th century at the latest. As ancestors of the later margraves, electors, Thuringian dukes, and Saxon kings, they resided in the castle until the 13th century. It housed stables, barns, and the so-called official garden. Part of the middle castle (city side) is privately owned by several families. The Saale wing belongs to the castle grammar school with classrooms and administration. Burgstraße 4, 06193 Wettin-Löbejün 5 First Mining Office Wettin has a very old mining history. Coal deposits were first mentioned in 1382. According to a legend, the discovery of coal is attributed to a shepherd who was the first to find the black gold at Tierberg in Wettin. The first mining office is documented in 1691. Burgstraße 8, 06193 Wettin-Löbejün 6 Upper Castle The upper castle is the second core castle of the complex. It was built as a round castle. In the middle was a mighty bergfried. In 1955, the special school for shepherds moved in here. Today, the upper castle also belongs to the Burg-Gymnasium Wettin. Burgstraße 3, 06193 Wettin-Löbejün 7 Town Hall Wettin Town Hall impresses with its distinctive tower at the front of the building. It was rebuilt in the Renaissance style in 1660 after two major city fires. Documents report a council cellar, a meeting room, and an administrative office. Currently, the building is used multifunctionally. It houses, among other things, the Wettin–Information. During the GDR era, the church fell into disrepair. By 1958 it could no longer be used. The first restoration work only began in 1990. Today, visitors find a modern, bright church in a historic shell where services and concerts take place. Changing art exhibitions enrich the church interior. This is the Royal Prussian Mining Office from 1820. Until the closure of the mines in 1893, the entire extraction in the northern and central Saale district was under this office. Benches invite you to view the wall plaque, which shows 34 margraves, dukes, electors, and kings from the princely house of the Wettiners. The epithets of the Wettiners are impressive. It was built around 1280 on an order court of the Templars with the support of the Counts of Brehna – Wettin. The chapel is owned by the city of Wettin – Löbejün. It has been under restoration since 1989 and is used for cultural events. Les gisements de charbon ont été mentionnés pour la première fois en 1382. Selon une légende, la découverte du charbon revient à un berger qui a trouvé le premier cet "or noir" sur le mont Tierberg à Wettin. Le premier bureau des mines est attesté en 1691. Il a été reconstruit en 1660 dans le style Renaissance après deux grands incendies de la ville. Les documents mentionnent une cave à vin municipale, une salle de réunion et un bureau administratif. Actuellement, le bâtiment est utilisé de manière multifonctionnelle. Il abrite notamment l'office de tourisme Wettin. Place du marché, 06193 Wettin-Löbejün 9 Église Saint-Nicolas L'église Saint-Nicolas a été construite au 12ᵉ siècle dans le style roman en tant qu'église des bourgeois et transformée plus tard en style gothique. Pendant l'époque de la RDA, l'église a été abandonnée. En 1958, elle ne pouvait plus être utilisée. Ce n'est qu'en 1990 que les premiers travaux de restauration ont commencé. Aujourd'hui, le visiteur trouve une église moderne et lumineuse enveloppée d'un manteau historique, où se tiennent cultes et concerts. Des expositions d'art temporaires enrichissent l'espace de l'église. Il s'agit de l'ancien bureau des mines royal prussien datant de 1820. Jusqu'à la fermeture des mines en 1893, ce bureau supervisait l'intégralité de l'exploitation dans le cercle de Saale nord et central. Des bancs invitent à contempler la plaque murale sur laquelle figurent 34 margraves, ducs, électeurs et rois de la maison princière des Wettiner. Les surnoms des Wettiner sont impressionnants. Saalestraße 8–9, 06193 Wettin-Löbejün 12 Chapelle des Templiers à Mücheln La chapelle templière gothique élevée à Wettin OT Mücheln est l'une des dernières chapelles templières préservées en Europe centrale. Elle fut construite vers 1280 avec le soutien des comtes de Brehna – Wettin sur un domaine des Templiers. La chapelle appartient à la ville de Wettin – Löbejün. Depuis 1989, elle est restaurée et utilisée pour des événements culturels.
