Unweit der Erfurter Seen befindet sich eine beeindruckende Riedlandschaft. Der Weg führt Sie durch die weitgehend offene Weide- und Moorlandschaft und beeindruckt kurz vor dem Alperstedter Ried mit einer tollen Aussicht über das Thüringer Becken. Die Kalkniedermoor-Landschaft des Alperstedter Riedes, das kurz vor dem Ziel besichtigt werden kann, ist einmalig im Freistaat Thüringen und Umweltschutz-Maßmahmen des Freistaates zu verdanken. Es ist Relikt der Urlandschaft des Thüringer Beckens, ebenso wie die Baggerseen, die einst von der Ur-Gera geschaffen wurden.

Not far from the lakes of Erfurt is an impressive reed landscape. The path leads you through largely open pasture and moorland and impresses just before the Alperstedter Ried with a great view over the Thuringian Basin. The calcareous low moor landscape of the Alperstedter Ried, which can be visited shortly before the destination, is unique in the Free State of Thuringia and is thanks to environmental protection measures of the Free State. It is a relic of the primeval landscape of the Thuringian Basin, as are the gravel lakes, which were once created by the primeval Gera.

Non loin des lacs d'Erfurt se trouve un impressionnant paysage de tourbières. Le chemin vous mène à travers un paysage de pâturages et de tourbières largement ouvert et offre juste avant le Ried d'Alperstedt une vue magnifique sur le bassin de Thuringe. Le paysage de tourbières calcaires basses du Ried d'Alperstedt, qui peut être visité peu avant la destination, est unique dans l'État libre de Thuringe et est le fruit des mesures de protection environnementale de l'État libre. C’est un vestige du paysage primitif du bassin de Thuringe, tout comme les lacs de carrières créés autrefois par l’Ur-Gera.
