<p>Das Zisterzienser Nonnenkloster Stadtroda - Eine Ruine der ehemaligen Zisterzienser Nonnenkloster zu Roda. Das Kloster verdankt seinen Ursprung den Herren von Lobdeburg, welche nach ihrem Einzug 1160 aus Franken in die hiesige Gegend hier in Stadt Roda (seit 1925 Stadtroda) ein neues Hauskloster, auch als eine Begräbnisstätte für ihr Geschlecht, anlegten und dabei 1240 das Kloster für Nonnen vom Orden der Zisterzienserinnen gründeten. Aufgehoben wurde es 1534 infolge der Reformation in Thüringen.</p><p>In den Sommermonaten finden in der beeindruckenden Kulisse Chorkonzerte und Sommertheater statt. Ganzjährige Besichtigung ist möglich.</p>
