W latach 1897, 1985/86 i 1995 kościół został odnowiony. W weekend Zielonych Świąt 2021 roku do dzwonnicy wniesiono nowy, ważący 915 kilogramów dzwon z brązu z napisem „Soli Deo Gloria”. Został on odlany w listopadzie 2020 roku przez firmę Rudolf Perner GmbH & Co. KG (Passau) i sfinansowany głównie z darowizn. Został on wniesiony do wieży podczas uroczystej mszy świętej 22 maja 2021 roku. Dwu dzwonowy zestaw został oficjalnie poświęcony 3 października 2021 roku.

The northern bell tower of this massive hall church dates back to the Romanesque period. The rectangular choir was added as late as the 15th century. Between 1717 and 1719, the nave and choir were given their present form. The tower is topped by an octagonal, pointed hipped roof. The nave is covered by a half-hipped roof. The interior, spanned by a painted wooden barrel vault—the northern section has a flat ceiling—features two-story galleries; their balustrades depict the Last Supper, the Baptism of Jesus, and the Praise of the Angels, surrounded by prophets. In 1719, they were painted with scenes from the Old and New Testaments; in 1882, they were restored to their original condition. The pulpit altar, designed in the Thuringian tradition of pyramidal pulpit altars, dates from 1719. The platform supporting the pulpit rests on four naturalistic palm trees. Behind it, the pyramidal structure begins with vinework. The shrine of a winged altar from the first half of the 15th century was restored in 1882 and most recently in 1986. At its center stands a blessing Jesus Christ, flanked by Mary and John the Baptist. On either side were three male saints each, which are currently in storage. The church was renovated in 1897, 1985–86, and 1995. The organ, with 18 stops distributed across 2 manuals and a pedalboard, was built in 1750 and restored in 1850 by Friedrich Erdmann Petersilie and in 1967 by Helmut Hildebrand. Of the original three bronze bells, two had to be surrendered during World War I for armaments purposes as a metal donation from the German people—as did their two successors, the Christ Bell and the Luther Bell, cast in 1921 by the firm Gebrüder Ulrich (Apolda), during World War II. The smallest bell, cast in 1825 by Christian August Mayer (Rudolstadt) as a peace bell, survived. It had to be silenced in 2017 for structural reasons. On the Pentecost weekend of 2021, a new bronze bell weighing 915 kilograms and bearing the inscription “Soli Deo Gloria” was hoisted into the belfry. It was cast in November 2020 by Rudolf Perner GmbH & Co. KG (Passau) and financed primarily through donations. It was hoisted into the tower during the festive service on May 22, 2021. The pair of bells was officially consecrated on October 3, 2021.
