The Nordhausen Christmas Market takes place around the historic town hall on the market square in Nordhausen am Harz. In an atmospheric setting of more than 1,000 lights, wooden huts, illuminated stars and fir trees, numerous caterers and showmen offer treats, baked goods, confectionery and gifts for an atmospheric pre-Christmas season. The musical program offers everything from folk Christmas to large-scale carol singing and Sunday tower blowing. For the little ones, there is a wish box, a children's carousel and a model railroad depicting the Südharz/Kyffhäuser region. The club Christmas market on the neighboring Nikolaiplatz offers further surprises. The special attraction of the Christmas market in Nordhausen is a walk-in, handmade wooden witch's house with additional festive children's programs.

Der Nordhäuser Weihnachtsmarkt findet rund um das historische Rathaus am Markt sowie auf dem Rathaus-, Luther- & Nikolaiplatz in Nordhausen am Harz statt. Der Markt öffnet täglich um 13:00 Uhr und bleibt bis 20:00 Uhr (freitags und samstags bis 21:00 Uhr) geöffnet. In einem stimmungsvollem Ambiente von mehr als 1000 Lichtern, Holzhütten, Leuchtsternen und Tannengrün sorgen die Gastronomen und Schausteller mit Leckereien, Gebäck-, Süßwaren- und Geschenkeangebot für eine gemütliche Vorweihnachtszeit. Das musikalische Programm bietet von Folkweihnacht über großem Platzsingen bis hin zu sonntäglichem Turmblasen einiges. Für die Kleinsten stehen ein Wunschbriefkasten, das Kinderkarussell und eine Modelleisenbahn mit Darstellung der Region Südharz/Kyffhäuser im Vordergrund.
