Christes ist eine Gemeinde im Landkreis Schmalkalden-Meiningen in Thüringen. Sie gehört zur Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Dolmar-Salzbrücke, die ihren Sitz in Schwarza hat. Christes hat etwa 600 Einwohner und liegt in einem Waldgebiet im Städtedreieck Meiningen–Zella-Mehlis–Schmalkalden. Die Gemeinde wurde 833 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt und ist bekannt für ihren heilkräftigen Brunnen (Christus-Born) und ihre gotische Basilika (Unserer Lieben Frauen zum Christus). Christes ist ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel für Wanderer und Naturliebhaber. Die Gemeinde verfügt über eine Grundschule, einen Kindergarten, einen Sportplatz, einen Dorfplatz und mehrere Vereine. Christes ist eine lebendige und traditionsreiche Gemeinde im Thüringer Wald.
